I was rewatching "The Making of The Silver Lining" on YouTube, and came across this scene:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0bPV4s0Q5NI#t=1m43s

Captain Saladin asks Graham if he "[found] a cure]" "since the storm last evening", which seems to fall pretty directly after the events of Episode 1.

Thoughts?

Yup, that sounds about right. But now this means that not only is Alexander and Rosella in a coma, but Valanice is in trouble. Seems like Graham is gonna have his hands full. Well, whatever makes for a better story. Bring it on!  :suffer:

Remember the trailer for TSL, released around 2005? It shows Graham talking to an unconscious/sleeping Valanice.

I theorize that Valanice goes crazy or otherwise loses her mental facility. I've seen clips where her hair is down from the tidy bun, her appearance is generally unkempt, and her facial expression is panicked. Plus the fact that she was seemingly asleep during broad daylight...very suspicious.

Who was the person being dragged up the stairs to the tower in that video? I couldn't tell who it was, but it kind of looked like Valanice. Then Graham said, "Remember when we first met?". A reference from Romancing the Throne perhaps?

Maybe Valanice has some sort of nervous breakdown because of her fear of stairs? :P

Actually she doesn't have a fear of all stairs, just the stairs in that quartz tower, the "dreadful stairs". Which are pretty dangerious, very narrow, extremely steep, spiral around the tower at weird angles, and are easy to fall off of. There are no hand railings. Graham can easily fall off them LOL. They are quite dangerous.

If she had a fear of all stairs how do you think she would have lasted inside Fifi le Yip-Yap's house? With its many different stairs, some that break the laws of physics. She would have never made it into Fifi's office.

Well, she could've seen a therapist between KQ2 and KQ7, who helped her repress all of her staircase-related fears.
And then something happens that hits her with all of the trauma of every staircase in Sierra history at once, and she goes into shock.

Then Graham has to find 70 Power Stars to break the curse on the Endless Staircase in Peach's Castle, and then find a way to defeat the Evil Overlord of Staircases, who resides in the Shinra Buildi- okay, I'll shut up now. XD

Narrator (KQ2): "She will follow you anywhere! Except, of course, down those dreadful stairs. She is deathly afraid of them."

I don't think fear of one set of dangerous and treacherous set of stairs is enough to see a therapist :p... I must have killed Graham on those stairs more than a dozen times back in the day LOL.

...and hah hah.

Well, falling off stairs, cliffs, and the like is one of the most common ways of dying in Sierra games, so I wouldn't be surprised if all Sierra characters were acrophobic at heart, or something. :P

Speaking of cliffs, and high places, Valanice was the one who had to explore the narrow paths leading up the Mountain of Winds in Etheria, LOL. The land and the mountain float high above the ground.  That would probably induce worse case of vertigo and acrophobia.

Strangly she jumps down questionable rainbows, and slams hip first into the ground below... and walks away from it alive. Althogh if she falls off the Mountain of Wind to Eldritch below it kills her.

There used to be a wallpaper that showed Valanice looking at herself (I don't know if is was a mirror or not :P), and on one side she was this tortured adult, and on the other side she was the young princess stuck in the tower.  The text across it said something like, "Remember the tower, Valanice..."

I think something might trigger her memories of being stuck in the quartz tower, and yes, I think she'll have some kind of breakdown. :)

"Breakdown", that was the word I was looking for.

Here's the wallpaper you were talking about, Haids.

Valanice should eat a few hamburgers. She's way too thin!

I would never have known that that was supposed to be a younger Valanice if someone hadn't just pointed it out.  The cheekbones are way too sunken and there is far too much definition around the neck/collar bone, and on the back of the hands.  Yikes!

Yeah, the Valanice on the right was the one being dragged up to the tower in that video that was posted. Can't wait to play Episode 2, it looks like it's gonna be pretty epic.

Right?  It took me awhile to realize that she was a younger version.  The younger one looks just as...old. :P

I suppose the food and conditions weren't exactly ideal in that tower, to be fair.

I was about to say. If anything, it'd be the other way around.
