I dont think its right to have People wait so Long for Episode 2 so that Episode 3/4/5 can come out Quicker and then TSL is Done and Over like "Thats It what the Heck".  :-[ :-[

Tales of Monkey Island Respectfully came out Every Month with Each Episode having the Same Lenth of Gameplay and Puzzles, but the End was just Cut Off with Lazyness.

I Understand Episode 1 was Short of an Introduction and Maybe theres a Patch for who knows what, or Maybe you guys are Re-Doing the "Cedric" Narrator with a Diffrent Voice Actor if it Worries you Guys that the Rest of the Episodes will be Complained about because of the Narrator.

How Far is Episode 2 in Completion, would it mean that Episode 3 would come out 2 Weeks Later.  :o

When was Episode 1 Released on what date.   ???

KatieHal

We're working on the episode--when it's ready and we know a solid release date, it'll be announced. Episode 1 was released on July 10th, so it's been a month and a week--really, not all that long just yet. As we've said many times, we're aiming to release with 1-3 months between each episode, and we have not at all gone over that.

You have to remember Daventry that we are all doing this on our spare time. Even Tales did not come out on the exact same day the first episode was released, even the last episode was delayed two months. Point is, we are all working very hard at this and have a time frame for release. We are taking many of the constructive criticisms and trying to see how we can add them into the game to enhance your experience. Please be patient.

Im Patient, but its just that Episode 1 was a Surprise to Everybody that Waited for TSL to Come, it was kind of Unexpected that it was Short and thats why People want Episode 2 to come Quicker for a Longer Play through in Fear of Another C&D  :'( :'(

I Assumed with the Previous C&D you guys just went on anyway in Hopes that Vivendi would Allow TSL to Open through the Support of Fans and then Bam All the Episodes in a Month  :-[ :-[ :-[

If a C&D happend to me, i would Never Stop my Project, i would Finish it and clean up the Bugs and then I would Play through the Episodes till a Go Ahead is Approved  :P

You guys worked till 2002 i would've thought TSL would be Done by Now.  ::)

I think the Biggest Issue is the Shortness of Episode 1 thats why People want More and Right Now.  :o

Episode 1 is still Incredible to Play, take your Time on Episode 2.  :suffer: ;D ;D ;D

I think that is the issue with most series and episodic releases, or at least for me it is, I just want to know how it continues and don;t want to wait till next day, week, month, year, etc   :P

Amen. That entire game had so much potential,
but after leaving the player with a rather sudden cliffhanger (end of episode 4), they released Episode 5 which was really just one big puzzle (and a lot of backtracking).
Please use spoiler text! I at least have only just finished Episode 4, and not yet started Episode 5, and I imagine others are in similar situations.

Oh, my bad. I didn't even think about it. I hope I didn't spoil too much. Sorry. :(

No prob--I stopped reading when I realized you were going to be talking about the fifth episode. I didn't realize they were having a sixth!

(but if we continue along this topic, we should move this to the Off-Topic forum...)

What Exactly was the Introduction to Episode 1 of TSL  :-[ :-[

Basicly you just Start the Introduction with the Marriage of Edgar and Rosella, then we see Alexander get Cursed with some Wizard Ruining the Wedding.

Later we just Start the Game with King Graham off on a Quest to Safe his Family.

Isent the Introduction supposed to be from what you guys keep putting in The Four Winds supposed to be In Part 1

The Return of Rosella and Edgar
The Knighting of Connor
The Trial of Alhazrad

Now it just seems you guys are trying to throw All those Things in the Upcoming Episodes witch wouldent make much sense if Graham is gonna spend the Remaining Episodes looking for a Cure to His Children.

Its like you guys are Telling us about TSL and Kings Quest as if Yoda from Star Wars is talking, all of a sudden we are a Few Pages In the Story and then he talks about the Beginning.  ::)

Theres a Better Way to Start s Short Episode Introduction to just Throw the Player in the Game when Most People Dont really know what KQ is or what the heck is going on.  :P

Come to think of it, i still Dont get Ep1 or what is Happening, i just Play because its KQ.  :suffer: :suffer:

KatieHal

The Four Winds is for filling in what's been going on between the last official King's Quest game and now. Those events, while worth knowing about, don't all influence what's going on IN the game itself.

I'm not really sure what it is you don't find clear about Episode 1, but there's always replaying it to see if that helps. :)

Yeah - the material in the Four Winds is all from before Episode 1. If it's not clear what's going on in TSL, it will be later. I think the basic idea of Graham trying to save his children is pretty clear. Some of the stuff (e.g. that mysterious cloaked guy) is meant to be mysterious - more will be revealed in future episodes.

Anyone who has played KQ before will likely find themselves already feeling pretty familiar with the characters and settings in Episode 1--particularly given the game's faithful recreation of the backgrounds from KQ6.  However, someone who had never played a KQ game would probably feel pretty lost--since the characters aren't really formally introduced at all, and the story gets off and going pretty quickly.  That said, I can't imagine many people playing this that aren't already familiar with King's Quest games--that's just not really the audience these fangames are aiming at.
