Scariest scenes out of King's Quest

Not that it scares me anymore (honestly!) but what I recall, scariest moment in any KQ game for me was the appearances of the witch in KQ1 (but that was probably because I was quite young when I played that)

I forgot about that one! It was scary for me too as a kid. Made worst because I played the game on a Tandy 1000 EX and monsters came with their own music theme, on a freakin' PC speaker. Now that's scary!

Whenever Manannan pops up and you're not expecting him, still makes me jump.

Oh, that was the worst! He always popped in when you least expected it and he was always staring at you with that cold, piercing glare...It was like a mist enveloped the room when he showed up...and didn't clear until he left. LOL

Or....maybe the scariest part in KQ is when Manannan tells you to go empty his chamber pot. Now THAT is scary. lol ew.

As a kid I used to live in dread of Manannan and the bandits.  Not because I was frightened, but because you had nothing but silence, then that blaring music!  No way to crank the music down, just freakishly loud old school computer game music.  And since Manannan could pop up any time (when he was in the house) and just stare at you, and since the bandits were random, I took to playing with the games with the sound off, at least in Llewdor.  I was just too jumpy.  I swear, it was like the game was delivering random electric shocks.  I just couldn't take it.  Yet, KQ3 is still my second favorite game behind KQ6.

Manannan the cat in King's Quest 5 was kind of freaky too, you'd never know when he'd pop up to yell for Mordack and then Mordack would come and choke Graham with his spell.  That little punk of a talking cat and Graham never actually killed him either.

GAH! That's the most terrifying part of any KQ game to me.  That's why, when Dahlia would swoop down in the forest and her music would screech, I'd jump out of my skin. So freaking scary!
