Like will I get any form of Virus/Malware/spyware/adware/etc... from downloading it?

I have been running into that kinda crap alot lately when downloading "Free" games (yes of the legal variety).

I've download it the day it came out and just yesterday to put it on my laptop and it's been perfectly fine. :)

Well millions of people use limewire, but that doesn't mean that they don't get viruses & the such off of it

Hi Robert--

Our game is safe to download. All of the mirror sites that are hosting it are trustworthy and we went through a process of asking for help hosting it, getting offers from other sites, and if any had raised red flags, we would not have used them. We've yet to get any reports of viruses or malware, however, and we've had over 33K downloads since we released.

In the very unlikely chance that something does get latched onto the download, our Tech Support forum folks will help you as much as they can, and we'll definitely look into the site you downloaded from specifically!

Of note, this IS only regarding the sites you will get linked to by following download links from our site and the Fan Club. If people have uploaded this game to Limewire or a similar file-sharing program, I can't speak to the safety of *those* specific files, but downloads reached via *our* website should be safe.

Yeah we've put FAR too much work into this project to then come around and pull a stunt like adding spyware into it.

We only place viruses onto to the machines of TSL haters.  Other than that, it is perfectly safe.  We've got to have some way to filter out negativity against the game...  ;D  JK :)

@Topic starter - I downloaded the game without a second thought. As long as you're downloading from this site and not from any other source then I guess everything should be fine.

Yes, only download the game from this website otherwise you run the risk of obtaining a virus.

of course it's safe.

if it wasn't, this really would be the biggest trick in the history of the interwebs.  I mean we came up with some conspiracy theories I think around the time of the C&D, but now the games out.

lol jk.

I think the game isn't actually out, it's just a big ass virus that kills your computer and makes it catch on fire.

then you give it a good review because you are scared of what the evile peoples at POS might do to you next if you don't!

how's that theory?

You had most of that right but not before the virus logs into your bank account with your login info and zips out with all of the funds.  Maybe we're not really working for free.  :suffer:
