Here's something you guys may be interested in, especially if you want to start modding.

Morrowind definitely stands on its own. Oblivion definitely made things a lot easier and the players of Morrowind didn't take too kindly to this. Well, maybe 'easier' is the wrong word. They change a lot anyway. But a lot of people, my brother for instance, still considers Morrowind vastly superior to Oblivion in terms of gameplay, and in some ways, story. It also has 2 full expansions Tribunal and Bloodmoon. One thing about Morrowind is that every single solitary event, dungeon, quest, character, book of lore, object, weapon, armour, etc were all crafted from scratch. Nothing is randomized like it is in Oblivion. The combat engine is also pretty different. Oblivion plays more like an FPS as opposed to Morrowind's dice-rolling type system. You can also swing your weapons in different ways which affects things differently. And there are WAY more stats and variables to EVERYTHING you do.

One thing you may not like about Oblivion is that your magic does not recover over time. Actually I don't think anything recovers over time except fatigue maybe. Been a while since I've played it, though.

Actually, magic does regenerate.

I think it's your health that doesn't recover over time in Oblivion, isn't it? But that's the only one iirc!

Well, I think it's safe to say that I will be purchasing the Bethesda Pack on Steam, possibly when it goes down in price.

That's correct, Cray.

It would be much cheaper to buy the games separately.

I can't seem to find Fallout 3 GOTY edition for less than $49.99. It's the main reason why the pack is so expensive.  :-\

From Amazon.com:

12 new from $35.89

8 used from $30.95

Also, does the GoTY edition just include the expansion packs?

Yup, as far as I know. It's the main game, and the five expansions. Nice find on Amazon btw. I have Fallout 3 (vanilla) that I got retail, but I've been dealing with some pretty bad DRM recently. I think it may only happen for Windows 7 users, but every time I put in the disc, it says the disc is a fake and that I should put in software that is authorized by SecuROM. However, I bought the game from a game store, have the case, manual, product key, and yet it's still telling me that it's a fraud. So I'd rather stick to digital distribution, but I'll see how things go. Thanks anyway, Doon.  :)

Hmmm, that's very strange about the DRM glitch.

Imagine my surprise coming home with the game, buying 3 of the 5 expansions, installing the game just to find out that the DRM is acting up.  ::)

I was able to get it working and was playing for as long as my patience could endure, but I'm looking to actually play the game without the DRM. Plus, getting Morrowind and Oblivion in that Bethesda Pack would make it all the more worth it, as long as that price goes down a little.  :-\
