Am I the only one here? lol I often remember in the long kings quest saga I had alot of dreams about being inside of the game or a weird version of it. But I often completed a puzzle in my dreams and when I ventured back to the game I found that it worked strangely enough, its almost as if I had dreamed the game into existance or alteast part of it, but I honestly find it a bit errie that a dream would eventually work in the game however it was just another of the great things about growing up in that age.

Eh, I never had a dream about Kings Quest. But I remember that I pulled an all-nighter playing Sonic & Knuckles one time, and when I finally went to sleep, I had a dream that Knuckles was punching me in the face with his razor-sharp knuckles.  :o

This actually happened to me when I was playing Space Quest 4 back in the day.  I was inside the supercomputer, dodging the security droids and I kept coming to the boxes mounted on the rails and when I looked at them, all I got was some weird symbol.  That night I had a dream that the boxes were actually outlets and I plugged my pocketpal into one with the help of an adapter that I bought at the Radio Shock (yeah, the store was named Radio Shock in the version I had.  It was funnier that way).  Sure enough, I woke up the next morning and realized that's what those things were.

Basically what happens is that your brain recognizes the solution to the puzzle but for one reason or another it doesn't get to your conscious mind.  In my case I was too tired.  It was late and I'd been playing the game for a while.  Or maybe you subconsciously recognized a pattern or the fact that an item belonged in a certain place but it just didn't go any further.  So when you go to sleep, sometimes your dreams pull up that unconscious thoughts and problem solve for you.  We still don't quite know exactly what purpose (if any) dreams serve, but sometimes they do act as a way to problem solve or rehash events of the day or issues that have been bothering you.  In this case, when you've been playing adventure games and solving puzzles all day, it's not surprising that your unconscious mind decided to pull its weight in that department as well.

I dream TSL stuff pretty much every night.  I wake up sometimes and I'm not sure whether the stuff I'm thinking of was in my dream or really got fixed.

Shut up, I was going to make a "I dreamed I..." thread!

But no, I don't remember having any KQ dreams as of late.  But I probably have.  I think about it enough!

EDIT: I lied, I totally forgot about a TSL dream I had just recently!  I had a dream that Katie announced that TSL would be released, but it would cost $90 per download.  And each episode cost $10 more than the previous, so we were totally getting screwed.  I remember waking up really, really mad. >:(

Weird.

With 30,000 downloads at $90 each for 5 episodes, you'd be well into the 8-figure range. Not bad at all!

If you do,  oh well!  You've got peeps who would buy it for such a price.

Dreams are extremely important.  No doubt. I'm sure TSL started out something like that. Usually I've heard music or tunes in my dreams and played them waking up, and they sound good on my guitar. Video games, I have too. When I played F.E.A.R 2, I had a nightmare that Alma was in my kitchen, then a nuke went off in my backyard.  I'm pretty sure I dreamed about sierra games back in the day, as I played them all the time. Probably with commodore 64 games too.  I remember the beginning of space quest 4 being pretty nightmarish.  For some reason, I remember street fighter 2 coming out for SNES and playing it from 6 pm to 6 am at LEAST with my friend. Might as well have been a dream.

I wish I could solve puzzles in my sleep. Every time I dream about an adventure game, I end up finding a bunch of secret areas and deaths that I've never seen before, and then I get all disappointed when I wake up and they don't exist. :P

I'm actually going to move this to our Off-Topic forum; it's a bit more well-suited to there.

Ever since I have been playing Kinqs Quest games I tend to dream about the characters and what they might
get up to next.

Normally, I would feel sorry for you, but with dreams come nightmares. Consider yourself lucky.  ::)
