When I was playing through it again recently, I was actually pleasantly surprised by the map seller's voice work. I'm not even sure I'd ever played through and talked to him before, or at least not in a very long time, but I was impressed. :)

I have to admit I liked the ranger's voice, but I should do another playthrough before casting any sort of votes.

I also thought it was a little odd that Black Widow has a human face on the underside of her spider head--in such a configuration so that her spider fangs look like horns.  Very strange.   In KQ6, she's just a talking spider without the anthropomorphised features, and it looks a lot more natural, in my opinion.   :)

Back to voices, I think the Black Widow voice needed to be older and more sultry.  The actor in the game to me seems like an early 20-something putting on a fake "older" voice.  But anyway, most of the voices for other supporting characters range from pretty good to really impressive.

Shamir's voice is another low point, in my opinion--I think the delivery of his lines sounds very much like someone reading off a page rather than speaking real dialog, and you can tell that the person doing it is raising their voice to an unnatural pitch.  I won't even bother elaborating on the awkwardness of the fake accent.  It's especially unfortunate because he reveals a lot of interesting plot points and backstory, and the awkward voice acting is very distracting, particularly during that initial conversation with Graham.  Those kinds of things stand out in stark contrast to some of the much more professional sounding characters (like Graham.)

Other than Shamir and Black Widow, the episode 2 voice acting seems to be a sight better than Episode 1, and most of it, Graham especially, sounds great.

I haven't had a chance to finish the episode yet, so I'm sure I'll have more commentary and nitpicks as new characters continue to pop up.  ;)

I agree that Graham's voice fits very well. My only criticism about Graham is that some of his lines (for example, "I do not wish to wake them up" on the IoW) sound as if Mr. Victor was nasally congested on the day that he recorded them and stick out from his regular speaking voice.

Ok, about graham: HOW IN THE NAME OF SIERRA DID THEY FIND JASON MICHAEL VICTOR? I MEAN HE'S ABSOLUTELY PERFECT! </fanboy moment>

He does have a great voice, and one that would also be very well suited to Indiana Jones, in my opinion, particularly if he could pull off a slightly cockier vocal swagger.  He really does bring out the best in the sometimes wooden dialog here.

That was actually the results of a recording on his own with no direction, and a bad mic. Missing lines from the recent recording sessions when Mike flew to New York, unfortunately.

I have to agree with the voice on Shamir, tbh. I wasn't too happy with it. It just was a bad casting choice, which was the result of Shamir only having one line originally (the opening of chapter 1) to then later having these many lines. I got used to it the more I heard him, but I always thought it was a low point in the casting.

However, Todd is a VERY good actor when cast correctly. His performance of Manannan was amazing!

I thought Tammy did an excellent job as the Black Widow, too, but we did have to lower her tone, because of her high pitched voice.

Just as an interesting and shameful note, no filters were applied to my voice. That came out just the way it was recorded for the Hole in the Wall :P

I thought, that for a fan game, the dialogue was amazing. ESPECIALLY Alexander. OMG Michael Fortunato can VA!

Yep, Mikey is a great actor. He also did Jollo and the Lamp Merchant.

I saw that. I was shell-shocked. He's the perfect person for Alexander I think. I mean he was REALLY good... Although, the original NOOOOOOOOOOOOO used in the early builds was kinda... idk lol but the final version, OMG. I just can't stop praising it lol

Nice, I didn't realize those two were both him.  They're some of the high points so far (I'm only a short way into the episode--keep having to put it off to do work).  Now I have even more incentive to finish it, because I really want to hear his Alexander in-game, since I remember being underwhelmed by a stand-alone clip I heard of it a while back.

Really? The lamp peddler was one of my favorite characters from KQVI, and you guys did a great job on him.

Yeah... when I heard that, I was like.... no, Mikey. That doesn't work outside of a Broadway show. Let's get more raw emotion going there. He did an amazing job after I sent him a recording of what I thought Alex should sound like in that particular scene.

I'm pleasantly surprised how it's the top rated performance here. Not because I think it's bad--I think he did a splendid job, but because it's Alexander after all, and I thought people were going to be much more critical of him.

I don't think we need to be critical of Alexander. Not after hearing Mike portray him, IMO, flawlessly. I'd say that out of the VA's I've heard so far, the two best casted are by far Alexander and Graham. I mean, they fit exactly how I imagine they'd sound. And it's fun listening to the really early audio clips you guys released YEARS ago between Graham and Edgar (I LOVE THAT ONE...) and Alexander and Sarah. I've got them both on my ipod (sad, I know, but I just can't help myself!)

As true as that is, I think he put a helluva a performance to back up the importance of his character. Unlike what we were talking about with the Arch Druid, Shamir, and the Black Widow, Mike really put some emotion into his roles. I could tell that it wasn't just some guy behind a mic with a script. He was literally playing Alexander. Nicely done!

:o OMG, Mike was Jollo and the peddler man, while doing Alex! I'm floored! I guess I need to pay more attention to the credits next time. I remember listening to an only recording with Alexander and Sarah, and when I actually spoke to the team on Skype and heard Mike, I was stunned that I was talking to the new Alex.

Personally, I wasn't a big fan of the Graham/Edgar conversation.  I found it needlessly emotional and out of character, especially when Graham starts playing psychoanalyst on Edgar--"remember when you were kidnapped as an infant and raised by the evil sorceress, Lolotte?  How did that make you feel?"  Lol.  Also, Edgar's story about watching Alexander bathe in the ocean with his shirt off was honestly kinda creepy.   :o  hehe

Now that I remember, we actually recorded the lines here at my place when Mike came to visit me two months ago. That performance was recorded like 5 times, and we ended up using a mix of many lines. It was too important to me to get it to be flawlessly good. I was obsessed with getting it right. I felt we owed that to the fans because of the intensity of the moment.
