what?

If you feel that way, it's probably because you don't have much forum presance here.  if you keep posting, not making new small topics with little questions so much but posting, contributing to the fun that is the asylum, and just kinda being/posting here a lot, you will enjoy it more.

that would be like me going over to the AGS forums, where I have like 2 posts and whining about how I am not respected or valued there.

don't take this personally.  we can't respect oro value you if we don't even know you. (or anything about you)

mango's not a team member.

and censoring your posts.... that's normal around here.  I don't agree with it, but I don't care too much.  It is a "family forum" so whatever.

Correct - Mango isn't a member of the staff, she's just another community member who is as free to voice her opinion as anyone else.  Language is always censored and we do make efforts to keep the form family friendly, and yes we do prefer positive feedback but any company that ignores all criticism is doomed to fail.  We take every negative criticism that comes our way and do what we can to address whatever in it is realistic and reasonable.

Which you are also welcome to do.  We don't shut down opinions here unless they're directly attacking other people or telling them not to voice their opinions.

and that's how it should be.

remember, you can voice your opinion, but so can other people.  so others may not agree with you, but that shouldn't stop you.  nothing wrong with debate as long as it is friendly IMO

I didn't actually call you a "rabid fanboy", because I don't believe it right to call people names on the forum - I said that defending something to the point that nobody else is allowed to have an opinion that differs even slightly from yours is reminiscent of being a "rabid fanboy" (the best examples I can think of being the people in video game console wars who will insist blindly that their console can do no wrong and the rest of the choices are terrible).  So hopefully that elaboration ties up what wasn't a direct insult, rather a comment on trying to force people to share the same opinion as yourself.

Personally, I don't feel people need to swear, especially on a forum that derived from our common love for King's Quest.  We wouldn't see a curse word in a King's Quest game, why is it needed on our forum?

((Also, totally don't know why people think I'm a staffie; I know I had the whole "Teamster" thing go on back in the day, but still...))

this.  as I said in the PM I sent.

I think people don't need to swear, but they don't need to censor it either.  I don't swear much, but when I do I don't want it to be censored.  so here I just avoid it alltogether unless I slip up every now and then, and then the forum usually censores it for me......

just my personal opinion.

I thought of it is ALL THIS HAS TO STOP! with a sorta pissed tone to it.

However, they didn't take it how you think, from what I can tell.  read mangos post right here.

Anything else, I think you just need to lighten up.  it's the internet we are talking about here.  If something really was offensive, you could talk to a mod about it.

Obviously some things that were said were taken in ways they might not have been meant. From the "rapid fanboy" thing to the title Hero chose for his thread in the general forum.

I don't want anyone to feel they can't express themselves here. We all know you can't attack others here, and I think we all try not to do so, but sometimes intentions are hard to read when you're interacting purely through a forum. So please be careful to express what you're saying clearly, whatever it may be. When you read something that you think is attacking you or insulting you, it's worth reading it again to be sure. If you still feel hurt by what someone said, let them know or let a mod know.

Misunderstandings happen online, I'd say the internet is in fact rather famous for them. ;) So that's why it's important to be as clear as we can be when talking and posting on here.

Okay? Okay. Group hug? :)

just rename the title for me thrn bevsudr what i said still stands maybe not in the form the current title says though

MangoMercury

Definitely I wasn't trying to be offensive, and I apologise if that's the tone I've given off; as I hope my previous post explained, I was just trying to put across that everyone should be welcome to an objective (key word) opinion, be it good, bad, or in between, and people should be able to agree or disagree objectively (key word).

The Internet is definitely a ground for misunderstanding people's intentions!  Believe me, I'm cool with people; just giving the "thumbs up" to objectivity!

There's a couple things it would be good for you to remember. First of all, tone of voice when speaking doesn't come across well on the internet. When trying to interpret it, you have to be very careful, because you could read something as very harsh when it was not meant to be. Reading over that whole topic, I could only pick out one reply to you that was unnecessarily brash. Everyone else's posts seemed to be calm and civil. It's best to look at posts that way all the time (unless it's obvious that they weren't written that way) to avoid conflict based on a misunderstanding.
Also, it's nice that you defended the game and the team does appreciate your support, I'm sure. They just wanted to clarify why they accept the good and the bad feedback as opposed to not wanting any bad feedback at all. And they did so in a civil manner, not wanting to make you feel like you weren't welcome or that your opinion wasn't valued.

Aaaaand then while I'm typing Katie goes and says what I just did far more concisely. ;)
I'm up for a group hug! :D
So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!

The Hero

could someone re-title  This to "internet misunderstandings" and keep it open thanks
