Actually, they do have very predictable patterns given of course that one knows where they started (ie- in the nominative singular uncontracted form). That was always my problem: I could never remember where they started... silly little blighters. ..and then there are the circumflexes... as Rabi said of the muon: "who ordered that!?"

I know. XP When I remember a word, I don't remember where the accent is. Also, there are words that look exactly alike but have different accents. Alla and alla, tis and tis etc. Very annoying.
