I'm very excited to vote for the first time in my life today! Even though the candidates aren't terribly exciting, it's still an awesome responsibility to be able to vote, and I intend to exercise it!

As I have lamely forgotten to register in the city I live in now, I won't/can't. :/

I think this is a prime example of why day-of registration should be a standard national thing.

I briefly considered making that "I Voted Today" into a Smiley, but I'm in the middle of grading stuff for the end of the term so maybe later.

Well, America isn't technically a democracy. :P

I'm planning on voting after work, though from the research I've done, pretty much the only thing I've been able to determine is that nobody tells the truth. Big shocker, I know. :-\

Meeee!

I am.  I did!  It took women so incredibly long to get voting rights in the United States that I made a vow to myself to vote any chance I get.  It's my duty not only as an American, but as a woman.

Interesting perspective, Haids. If only the rest of the population appreciated voting as much as you appear to, our democracy would be much healthier.

Sidenote: did you know that voter turnout for Presidential elections in the 1800s exceeded 80%? (Even though voters of the time were mostly white men, nonetheless, it's extremely high even for that demographic.) It's true!

I voted first thing today. The whole family went together. And the school committee candidates were all waiting to campaign at us when we got there. But here's a secret: we don't know anyone in school in this district so we don't care. :P

Check and check.  I voted because I can.  I actually find it saddening that so many people take this right for granted but then come back and complain when things aren't going the way they want them to.  If everybody who could vote got out there and actually did vote, all these political armchair quarterbacks could actually have a HUGE impact in the results.

Totally!  That's one of the reasons I'm so passionate about being able to vote--it's a priviledge.  People just don't seem to get that.

I voted, but I also somehow completely missed this thread. :P
So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!

My wife and I voted after work. :)
