Nothing that I've ever played, I know that.
So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!

Sounds like something out of a Rogue-like game.

I'll have to give this one to  Lambonius... which "Hack" is correct, Hack is a derivative of Rogue. Message me your paypal info ;)

I'm guessing it's this; I know it's not the original Rogue, as you never have a dog companion in it.

Ha, yeah, so do I. That was the only one I knew of until I Googled it.

Haha...sweet.  One of the first computer games I ever played as a small child with my dad was Moria, one of the first Rogue-like games.  I'll send you a PM shortly.  ;)

If I understand correctly, the dog was added in Hack v. 1.0.3. It's funny - when Lambonius mentioned Rogue, I had a memory of playing a rogue-like game with a kitten companion. I think it may have been some version of Hack.

I still love me a good Rogue-like game.  Angband is a great one--kind of a Moria+.  :)  They're surprisingly addictive, considering they don't really have real graphics.  But ah, you'd be surprised how far a little imagination can go when the gameplay is there to support it.  Man, I think I might just have to go download one to get my fix now.  ;)

I still play Rogue every once in a while, but it gets a little frustrating because it's nearly impossible to win. Still fun, though.
