I saw this on Twitter and it made me smile :) I rather y'all take your time and do it well than rush to get it out.

Cool I will write the release date on my calendar. The pictures are awesome. More new locations to explore.
I am looking forward to seeing king graham on a horse.  And that pawn shop owner he definitely looks like he has gained a bit more weight since Kinqs Quest 6. :)

He gained more than a dimension. If you look at KQVI's resources, you will see that Hakim only exists from the waist up. He literally has no legs, because there was no need to make them, as he never moved from behind the counter.

He does come out once--if Alex fakes his death, then he rushes out to check on you. But that's the only time I can recall seeing him from the waist down.

Oh, you're right; I forgot that. But when he is standing behind the counter, he has no legs.

I guess it would be a waste of memory to draw them when you can't see them.
So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!

Weird; he looks a lot fatter when not in-game.
How are you extracting these sprites, by the way?

Just out of curiosity, is there any reason why the time between the announcement of the release date and the actual release date is so long (6 or so weeks) when for episode 2 the time between the 2 was under a week.

I am not complaining, just curious as to how you could determine the release date so far out.

I have a schedule, with enough breathing room, that gives us the security to say we can release at that time. It's a bit like when in August we said that we'd be releasing Ep2 in September (Although with no date attached, but we did say September).

Games production is what I do for a living, so, I'm using what I've learned in the industry. Our Marketing/PR consultant requested a date, so, I looked at my schedule, talked to the other directors, and gave her a date that would give us enough breathing room.

We also sort of figured this based on what it took to put Ep2 together. Ep3 is a little monster compared to Ep2, so that's why it's taking a bit longer.

Of course, this is volunteer, so the 20 animators we have working on the game right now could vanish tomorrow and then it'd be bad. That said, I have confidence in these animators. Since they've joined recently, they've been doing  the hell o a job and putting their best towards what's shaping up to be my favorite episode in the series.

A great program called SCI Resource Viewer (SV for short).

You're welcome. It's hugely helpful for extracting lossless bmp data from the game's resources. The only issue is that if you want to extract an animation, you must do it frame-by-frame. But for still images, any sort of sound, fonts, etc., it works fine.

You need to have a bit of patience though, because the filenames are generic and thus not helpful in actually finding anything; you have to manually search through everything. Usually the resources are arranged in roughly chronological order, in the order you see them in game.
