Now I'm pissed. Eidos has just confirmed that the Highlander video game that's been MIA since it's reveal three years ago has been canceled. They're a bit late in the game, don't you think? The game actually looked good. Now it's gone... There's a reboot of the movie franchise coming out in like two years, and they chose to cancel a game that's got at least some development under it's belt that they could very easily have used to try and tie into the upcoming movie, or at least help market it. Very bad business decision in my opinion. A trailer for the game can be found on youtube. I was actually excited for this game, and now Eidos has gone ahead and cancelled it...

Indeed, my friend, indeed. I was interested in how the game could've worked, but now we'll never know. I think Highlander could work as a video game, but they have yet to get it right. I fear they never will. If I had the rights to the highlander franchise, I'd be making a game out of it right now. It deserves that much. I mean, it is a popular franchise that deserves a decent video game. Unfortunately, we may never get one now.

Just because a game looks good doesn't mean its a good game... and I'm always a bit skeptical about movie-tie in games...
Well, ya, King's Quest is on Earth. Daventry is very old city from a long time ago. It's in ruins now and people aren't quite sure exactly where it used to be. There are some archaeologists searching through the ruins, they think they know its Daventry. But its somewhere on Earth."-Roberta Williams http://kingsquest.wikia.com/wiki/File:Daventryisearth.ogg

well, you're right, but first of all, this wasn't a movie tie in, at least not at first. The Reboot was announced like a year after the game was. I realize, deep down, that the game would probably suck, but I have such a strong belief in the Highlander franchise that I think if they persevere they'll get a good game going. The first movie was amazing, and every sequel following sucked. But the television series is amazing. I'm sure a game could reach the same potential. But that's just my feelings...

Nothing good as ever come out of that franchise since Highlander, I wouldn't be too concerned.

I believe that is true to a degree. The first movie was undoubtedly the best of the entire franchise. But the first television series was also really good. I've only seen up to season 4, so I can't vouch for seasons 5 or 6. But the highlander game actually looked really cool. Granted, as is the case with pr, they only show you what they want to show you...
