I do like the idea of making the main character in Skyrim serve a prophetic purpose. I was underwhelmed by the role that the character in Oblivion played. Skyrim on the other hand is raising the bar, I think.

I saw some gameplay footage recently and it was all third-person.....hopefully that's not the default control standard.

There's been plenty of first person footage anyway. It WOULD be nice to finally have proper third person control/movement in an Elder Scrolls game though. Anything can change before a game's release. Personally, I can't live without the first-person perspective in an Elder Scrolls game. I wish Red Dead Redemption was first-person, but I can live with it. Elder Scrolls, however, MUST be first person.
