My hobbies include foreign music, Greek and Norse mythology, and reading.
You're in good company, my friend. :)  DELLING! DELORIA! WE'VE GOT ANOTHER MYTHOLOGY ENTHUSIAST!

I will simply direct you to Deloria's Court though you will perhaps find it more of a polyglottic haven than a mythophilic one (still that or my own thread would be a good place to discuss such matters/look for old conversations of same).

I keep telling you the dwarves fashioned you an absolutely lovely copper one! That will never green in fact! *sigh* asynjur *shrugs*

Had not. If you do make it to the States, I think you'll find that your English outstrips alot of ours. :P

I just wanna say that I have read through some of the comments of this topic, and I really felt at home from the very first second.

This place has that effect on people... I think it's something in the water... or perhaps in the asylum.  :crazydude:

My now 6-page verb table proves that everything Greek is wrong and complicated. :P

I still don't understand why you insist on actually DECLINING ALL OF THE PARTICIPLES!! You haven't even learned all of the personal forms of the verbs yet and you're filling up pages upon pages of pages meant for CONJUGATION with DECLENSION. :P Also, I keep telling you you'd be done with all the personal forms in 3 or fewer pages... which is probably why. :P

Since the Swiss school system is kind of confusing I won't start to explain what kind of school I am in at the moment. However, as far as I have heard it's on the same level as your American colleges.
This. :P I hate saying I'm still in high school since we're really so much more elitist than that and it's not at all comparable to American high schools. :P

It's because I never bothered to memorise the morphology table you sent me and the dative plural can sometimes be confusing.  :-[ Also, I'm not going to make an adjective table since I can actually keep track of those, in spite of the many sub-declensions, so they have to go on there. :P And we've actually done all the forms. :P We're going to start reading Kallirhoe after the exam next week. :)

I was until I realised there were weekly pantheon meetings (with cupcakes) in which they chose the most ridiculous ways to torture people who were convinced they were gods. :P But I need a golden headdress too and so must clearly be Sif. :P

Ahhh but depending on which version(s) you read into, Sif had hair made out of real gold rewoven into her own, given my naughty Loki, in amends for chopping it off to begin with. Other versions do make it a headdress instead.  ;)

English is by the way not my native language (as you definitely have noticed), but our school provides a bilingual school program. So more or less I have to speak English all day.
That's so cool!  I always feel like such a stupid American when I discover these things--we were required to take only 2 years of a foreign language in high school and that was it.  I took Spanish, but I enjoyed it so much that I took it all four years of high school.  Load of good it did me, too--I've forgotten most of it. ::)  But anyway, I also did not notice that English is not your first language.  Well done, man. :)

That's great, at least we're not alone with our possession of television. (do you also know that: you keep quoting a tv show and nobody around you would get what you're talking about? it's just embarassing and horrible -.-) what kind of shows do you watch?

don't be too hard on yourself :D I wouldn't care about learning other languages either if everybody spoke German!

And now I'll eat my Oreos and read through the topics ;)

Buddy, I forgot to mention: Based on what I've seen across the internet, your english is surprisingly good. I've come across many a people who can't muster english even half-way decently; you, my good sir, are doing the language justice. For someone who's native language isn't english, you're doing a superb job. Keep it up!

As for TV shows I watch: All sors. My interests range. I've watched crime, comedy, Science-Fiction, fantasy, etc. My all-time favorite genre is Science Fiction/Fantasy though. I love me some Star Trek (I own 23 seasons of it on DVD... That should prove my obsession with it XD), Stargate, Farscape, Battlestar Galactica and more. I also (really really really) love No Ordinary Family on ABC. That show is amazing! I liked Heroes before it veered HORRIBLY off-track. It's a shame it got cancelled, but that's the TV biz for you. I also like House (though I admit to being about 2-3 seasons behind at this point in time), Scrubs (I'm in the middle of season 5 or so), Futurama, Family Guy, American Dad, Firefly, Dollhouse, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Invader Zim... The list goes on. I've got an unhealthy addiction to TV. One that should seriously get treated lol. There are also many shows I've been meaning to watch, but haven't yet had the time to start on.

I also actually love quoting a show and no one knows what I'm talking about. Allows me to flaunt my knowledge of all things TV. I admit my knowledge isn't all-knowing (far from it), and I've got many shows I must still watch, but it is still steadily expanding. Oh, and I forgot to mention that another favorite genre would be cartoons in general. I love Anime and a lot of animated shows in general. Avatar: The Last Airbender ranks among my favorites, as does Ronin Warriors. I loved toonami back in the day...

sooo i guess I'll introduce myself as well :D

Um.. to start with, my real name is Jeannine. I found this forum thanks to Buddy since we are class mates and he kept going on about how fun this forum is ;D I gotta say, from what I read so far, he was right  ;)

My native language isn't English either but as Robin already said, we are kinda speaking English everyday (though my spelling is kinda bad '^^).
I'm a dragon loving freak who has fallen in love with Japan recently xD I love watching anime and annoy all my friends around me with it xD I also enjoy reading, including mangas. My favorite genre, manga or non-manga, is definitely fantasy  ;D

so ..um.. Hi! :D

ANIME/MANGA FTW! Welcome, Kairi! Is your forum name related to Kingdom Hearts by any chance?

Spelling is bad even for native-speakers of the language. I'm surprised at how good both Buddy and your's english actually is. For those that don't natively speak it, it's pretty good!!

Yay for anime fans! :D And yes the name is from Kingdom Hearts... Again Robin introduced me to it and I fell in love with instantly. I've only played the PSP game though xD

To be honest, I actually lived in England for some time, but I have the feeling I've lost most of my vocabulary since we moved back to Switzerland. That is obvious though, since I now speak Swissgerman most of the time ^^'
