Prolog was fun ;), but again not quite a programming language.  Well, most of the crap we did with it wasn't very complicated anyway.

ARE YOU JOKING?? Prolog was HORRID!! it's even worse than Scheme!! almost EVERYTHING there has to be done with recursion! so almost every single thing I wrote in it used the blind faith model :S

FYI, Prolog IS a programming language... my lecturer claimed it could do everything any other language does. Heck if I know how, though  :P

Hahaha I was being sarcastic (hence the winky ;))!  Awww where's Koko when you need her?  :-\  ;P

I never used Scheme, and I think the recursion stuff we did was mostly theory rather than actual programming.   XB

Prolog might be able to do everything any other language can do, but it's hardly used in industry.  I guess it has some nice uses for AI stuff, but still considering all the work involved, I'd rather use a deterministic one.  ;B

Thank your lucky stars for that. Recursion is a b****, that's why lecturers like it so much. I mean, EVERYTHING you do with recursion you can do with loops, and at least as efficiently ::)

Why will my ZoneAlarm still block scans sometimes when I already have a hardware firewall built into my router?

Quote from: Storm on April 14, 2004, 04:05:04 PMYou don't cast a spell to do that - just get Beauty there to break the curse ;)
And I quote from pages 450 and 451 from my King's Quest Companion - Third Edition:
QuoteWhen you arrive on the beach, walk back to the Beast's garden. On the way, pick a second white rose from the hedge. In the garden, fill the old lamp with water from the fountain-it is most important that this step be performed after the other ingredients are in the lamp. Go into your inventory and click the spell book on the lamp. When the spell book opens, turn the page to the "Rain" spell, and click the talk icon on the incantation to cast it. The "Rain" spell is not cast; all Alexander has to do to activate it is heat the ingredients in the lamp to a boil.
Further on page 451 it says:
QuoteIf you wish to play the short path, you have now accumulated the maximum amount of points prior to returning to the Isle of the Crown for the final time.
Okay, I agree casting the rain spell is not necessary if you play the short path, but it's still listed prior to the 'split'. 8)

Misconfiguration in the router/firewall? Interference from the router-settings on the firewall-settings? Don't have any experience with routers, let alone routers with a built-in firewall.

They should have splitted it sonner - you don't even need to get the spellbook in the short path  ;)

He's also wrong about using the book on the lamp - you can just use the hand icon on the book  :P
