Thanks for that, Cesar!  ;D

Glad to hear you guys and girls are looking forward to the release. What, with TSL, KOS, and Redux, now is indeed a very good time to be a King's Quest fan!

Arkillian: I don't think you'll be disappointed. ;)

dark-daventry: Cheers! The next Himalaya game will be a hybrid RPG adventure in the same spirit as KQ and QFG. I'd say it's more like KQ in regards it's storytelling elements, but closer to QFG in it's gameplay style. The best of both words. :)
The forthcoming SQ2 remake makes it a good time to be a Sierra fan, really.

ALL the forthcoming remakes/reduxes/whatever makes it a good time to be a sierra fan! oh, and one mustn't forget about The Art of Sierra!

And AGD2, please remind me to play QFG sometime. I still have yet to do so (I have downloaded your QFG 2 Remake for the mac. I fully intend to play it for all it's worth.) I'm only 19 and I'm having a huge fangasm over remakes of really awesome old games. Is that sad? XD When I was in school (even elementary school) I never shut up about KQ. People just looked at me funny XD But hey, we gots us some amazing remakes coming out soon, and it makes all the funny weird looks completely worth it! AGDI, you simply do amazing work. There's no other way I can put it. You are a lifesaver. You are geniuses. I love you lol. I know, it sounds weird and cheesy, but it's so true.

Whoa! That caught by surprise! This is going to be great! ...So when KQIV redux is coming out...?  ;)

dark-daventry: No, it's not sad, it's great! At the risk of sounding like someone who's getting too old, I'll say this: if the entire younger generation were as enthusiastic about these classic adventure games as you are, then the Sierra/LucasArts legacy would be sure to remain strong for at least another decade!

You should tell everyone else in your age bracket (who will listen) to take up a healthy interest in adventure games.  ;D

Ravager: KQIV Redux will be out this time next year... in a parallel universe.

I've got two friends who I know I can convince. One of them has played both your KQ remakes (and absolutely loves them too) and the other hasn't actually played the KQ series, but he is an avid adventure game fan (he's particularly fond of the Myst series, excluding Myst V: End of Ages)

I try preaching the importance of adventure games on the video game industry as a whole, and hardly anyone listens. The fact of the matter is that without Sierra, we wouldn't have Halo or any of the other modern games. With each game Sierra put out, they pushed the very boundaries of technology and software, often innovating and cultivating the future. Without Roberta and Ken's insistence on new technology, we wouldn't have evolved as an industry to where we are now. Many people tend to forget that. Or just don't know it. Another issue I have is people calling Uncharted or Tomb Raider an adventure game. By definition, they are action-adventure, which is different. They are the modern off-spring of adventure games I suppose, but not true adventure games in the sense that I think of them. But I digress. The fact of the matter is that your remakes are absolute top-quality in every way, and I look forward to whatever you come up with next. But we're still not getting Royal Quest, are we? I'd have liked to see that.

You're not getting anything else from AGDI after this. Himalaya, on the other hand...

On the one hand, I'm very excited to see a continuation of their plot line with the Father. I've loved all their games and I thought KQ2+ was a beautiful reinterpretation. Totally a favorite in the King's Quest series, even over the original KQ2.

On the other hand, having TWO versions of KQ3 is going to make my fan fiction project (where I'm writing a King's Quest Companion using the fan remakes) super difficult. :P

But also super interesting! I'd like to see the finished product! Remember, the alternate reality excuse is your best friend!

It's cool.  It's fan-fiction.  You can do what YOU want with it, because you've got no bosses to answer to!

Time travel, alternate realities, and aliens aren't restricted to the science fiction genre. They can do quite well in fantasy as well ;).

Whenever something doesn't work out in any established series, be it realistic or not, I always refer to the alternate reality excuse. Seriously, it never fails. It's the perfect answer for why something doesn't make sense in an established series... At least, to me it is...

That it will, my friend, that it will. And, it looks like the adventure game revival is really gaining steam this year too. Telltale has made a name for itself, there's a lot more commercial adventure games in development, and we have a huge and active fan community releasing high quality, professional level fan games left and right. I think 2011 may be the year the adventure genre returns!

Me too! The AGD remakes have always been top quality products! I've got no doubt that KQ3 Redux will be no different! Only a month to go until release! Oh, I can't wait! I'm downloading this the day it comes out. If I have to trudge through mountains of snow to find a starbucks with a decent internet connection, I will!

Let's hope you don't have to, Chris! Do you have bad internet at your school? I have Internet in my dorm and it works decently.

Let's hope this isn't released towards the end of February. Oh well, even it is I'll play it. I'm quite excited.

Unfortunately, my houses WiFi is faster than my dorm's ethernet. And Ethernet and WiFi should never be used in the same sentence like that. So, it may very well be necessary unfortunately.
