IThe voice acting for Jollo is borderline obnoxious and annoying as well, LOL.

TSL's Graham is excellent. He definitely sounds like a king. Not one sign of "annoying" voice acting from him at all.

Now AGDI, I snuck ahead on a "let's play" video, and listened to Rosella... The voice they chose, doesn't sound anything like I'd imagine Rosella to sound like. Sorry, AGDI. The voice choice actually makes her sound much older than she should be.

Agreed on both accounts. Graham has a totally awesome voice in TSL- PERFECT casting <3

Rosella in Redux though- she sounds like she should be a mother of someone- not an 18 year old girl D: It totally destroyed the illusion for me T.T It's forgivable, but if her voice was younger, then it really would've made the ending alot better for me. It kept throwing me off every time she talked.

TSL's Graham sounds like the guy from Broken Sword.

Rosella's voice in Redux was a hollywood actress (using a pseudo-name). I could be wrong but I think the decision to go with a professional voice actress outweighed the decision to have an age-appropriate actress (who probably wouldn't be as good). If it were not a free remake, however, it'd probably be a different story.

Oh wow- really? A professional actress? I must admit, I didn't see the voice actor's name in the credits. I assume I missed them. Who was it?

MusicallyInspired

Like I said, she asked us to use a pseudo-name to protect her identity as she is a part of the SAG voice actor's union or whatever. The voice actor for Alexander is also a hollywood professional.

Well, unfortunately Rosella comes off sounding like some kind of trollop, as some of my English friends would say. Perhaps fitting in with the Bar Wench...

Maybe the actress didn't understand the age Rosella was supposed to be?

Hmm back to the game, I can't for the life of me get the chickens to talk amongst themselves. I wanna hear their conversations.

Also on average how man conversations are their between the animals? I think most seem to have about 3?
Well, ya, King's Quest is on Earth. Daventry is very old city from a long time ago. It's in ruins now and people aren't quite sure exactly where it used to be. There are some archaeologists searching through the ruins, they think they know its Daventry. But its somewhere on Earth."-Roberta Williams http://kingsquest.wikia.com/wiki/File:Daventryisearth.ogg

Rosella's actress was probably the most experienced of all voice actors we had and we were pretty lucky she agreed to help us. (though we had to use a pseudo name in the credits)

KQ3 Redux is somewhat closer in style to KQ6 than to KQ7, so we tried to go towards the way she was voiced in that game (though she didn't appear until the end) rather than KQ7's more cartoony interpretation of the character.

I don't know she doesn't sound much like the actress in KQ6. Which I actually like, for the one line she had in that game.

"Congratulations Alexander, I'm so proud of you."

That actress actually sounded younger in that one line.

I also think the Rosella in KQ5 is better, "Father, I'm so glad you are here".

She may sound a little bit older, but I think she nailed the inflection to a tee.

Baggins

I don't know, they don't sound much alike to me. Your Rosella's voice seems much deeper, and wavering.

KQ3R ending (27:00)
KQ6 ending (4:06)

Also compare Rosella in KQ5 ending (probably my favorite Rosella);
here (2:31)

KQ5 voice acting is hit and miss... some like the falsetto rat or "cedric" are 'annoying'.

Cassima in KQ5 is eh...

I didn't have any problem with Rosella's voice, but I did think Valanice sounded too young.  ;)  Overall though I thought the voices in KQ3 Redux were very well done.

MusicallyInspired

Well, for Valanice, it's the same actress who played her in KQ2+. It was great to have that continuity.

Baggins

Ya, overall I think the voice acting is great. Only one that seemed off to me was Rosella, and that's only one character.

TSL on the other hand, had a quite a few returning characters that sound nothing like KQ6 counterparts, and imo are poor replacements.

It reminds me of M. Night Shyamalan's "The Last Airbender". :X

Well finished it. I thought the choice to go closer to the timing of the official KQ3 ending (the hat toss not taking place more than an hour after the return to the castle). ...and then the choices to just mix up the order of events somewhat and expand on it a bit, was interesting. I kinda missed the magic mirror explanation (the whole why/when the "mirror went dark"), its sorta of there (the mirror brightens), but Valanice doesn't really comment on it, and changes the subject leading you to the bed chambers. It was kinda cool to see more done with the side story in KQ2+
with the Item
. The ending added more to the long list of
magic Treasures of Daventry your team likes placing into your games. If 'three' wasn't enough ;)... What are we at now six or seven treasures?
