Ok, I frequent the site rather often( though I hardly post, I don't have that much time!) and I was noticing that there tends to be around a 3 month gap in your journal entries.  Not to sound rude or bossy or anything, but I was hoping that we could get those status reports a bit more often, I'd just like to know what's going on!

Ironically, that's the same reason why there are large gaps in the journal entries.  The team is busy working on the game, so sometimes it's difficult to take time to keep everyone updated often.

However, I highly suggest that you post more often.  If you ask the right questions in the right places, you might get more info on what's going on.   At the bare minimum, you'll at least get a: .

However, it was said somewhere on the site that TSL would come out sometime in 2006, so is it actually going to be released that soon?
In other words, when is the projected release date?

I believe it was also posted that the game was delayed due to the shutdown. The game will definitely come out when it's ready and not a minute before Just remember the team is extremely busy with their own jobs, since TSL is being put together on the side of everyone else's schedules. So, patience...patience is a virtue

but even with delays it should have been released a long time ago.

what is the story? like i'm sure the people working on it wouldn't be happy at all if they didn't know what was going on with some timelines, but for the rest of us we would like to know too

Now there I think you probably right.

But the game has to be approved by VU before it comes out, and no telling exactly how long that will take, so an exact date is probably impossible to give. Also due to the projects freeware nature some team members might have to give school and/or work a higher priority at unforeseen times, thus altering project completion dates.

I completely understand where Quertan and Cygnus are coming from and to be honest, it is fairly normal for them to feel that way without any real info or at least any real update from the game developers.

Truth to be told, there has been a lot of progress done as well as there has been a lot of things going on. Taking in consideration the nature of the project, we do everything we can in order to get to our milestones, but sadly we operate with over 50+ all over the world and everyone seems to be different when it comes to commitment. Being this said, I have got to be honest and admit that we have had a low blow that wasn't expected this year, some team members haven't been as reliable as others, and with a deadline like ours every single person seems to be as important as they become. This is by far an excuse, but more like a reality check for everyone, even the developers.

We had an excellent production rate back in 2005, once the VU drama the team morale dropped but it was soon gained back in Jan 2006. Sad to say, it doesn't matter how motivated and hardworking we might be if we don't seem to be enough to get the job done, which is my opinion one of the downsides of working at a different production rate as expected.

Either way, I will do whatever it is on my hands to have apost a progress report post up soon enough. Personally, I am extremely sorry for the delays even in my reply to this post. In my case moving to country to country kind of made a toll on me regarding time availability.

I hope this information sort of helps and don't worry, I'll try to provide good information for the time being. I understands updates are important as well as meaningful

This project is ambitious, well motivated, and even if some team members aren't as reliable as once thought, the team is always looking for new members, and will likely accept someone who has the right qualifications for a task, especially in the departments that need tons of help. The forum I think has just enough help, with there being so little going on now, the team doesn't need so much more mods, but they certainly need more help in other departments, if you will forgive me saying so. The team definetely is doing it's absolute best to get this project out on time, and I am sure that they will not let unreliable team members stop them. Besides, a lot of team members have a lot of things going on in real life, such as jobs, or problems with family or friends. Some team members take a leave of absence due to issues like that. I have a real life job, and to top that, I am in highschool, which means I am quite busy, but I would still find time for the project if I worked on it. Besides, I'm writing this response in an unexpected free block... I am all caught up in most of my classes, so I got s free first block, because it is a directed study... Seeing as I have no work to do or make up.... Anywho, this project will see updates in time, trust me on that. And no, I do not work for the team, if you are wondering.

I've seen some of the syncers of voice to speech, and they almost always look good... except for in Elite Force 2's case, which came close...

for the hintbook it's some nice nostalga to have that red cellofan fake thing in flash, but it's also laggy and really annoying.

when the final thing comes out i guess people will release normal text versions but i think yo uguys should release the text versions too.

Mille grazie to Petter for the journal update Sounds great, the lip sync stuff and all. Also, sympathies. At school, with our crazy animation teachers who can't make up their minds and need a reason for EVERYTHING (dang it, karl. sometimes a teddy bear is just a teddy bear.), we have to make changes and cut out stuff we had our hearts set on. But keep going, gang. You're doing us all proud, I still can't believe how much is going into this game.

Shadows is going to be done and released sometime within this decade, no one knows when it's going to be done, though. Especially since it needs to be sent to VG for approval and they might need to modify stuff later.
