> What kind of CPU/Processor you are using in your computer. Processor: Intel Pentium III Xeon

-> Amount of physical RAM you have installed on your computer. 4 GB

-> What kind of Video Card you have installed in your computer (manufacturer, card model name). ATI Radeon HD 4800

-> Operating System you are using. Windows XP Pro

I have downloaded The Silver Lining, and I got the audio/visual options menu. However, after clicking accept, nothing happens, and when I try to open the game from the desktop shortcut or from the program file, nothing whatsoever happens. My computer shows no indication that the game is running.

If you modify the settings in the configuration tool, accept what you have changed, then exit and re-run that tool does it keep the changes you made?

It would also be helpful to know if you built this computer or if it's made by Dell or HP or something like that, if you're running a 32-bit or 64-bit operating system, and what version of video driver you have - this can be found by running DXDIAG from a command prompt or the Windows Run command.

Custom built machine, 32- bit, 6.14.0010.6912 version video driver.

I cannot re-run the configuration tool. Nothing happens when I try to open the program. I already tried to uninstall, reinstall once, but same thing happened. It automatically opened the configuration tool, but when I had hit accept, it just closed and the game does not open. However, if I have tried to open it, and then shut down my computer, it shows a file running, but when I task manager, Silver Lining does not show as running.

Start with updating your video driver and the Catalyst Control Center.  AMD just put out an updated one last month and yours looks to be older.  Also run Windows update and see if there are any updates that Windows itself needs.

Video driver, Catalyst and Windows updated, still nothing happens when I try to open the game. No clue how to check output of console.log

I'm not really a tech person, this is way over my head.

In the actual folder where the game itself is installed there is a file called console.log (it may just show console if you don't have the extensions turned on).  Open that file in notepad and copy/paste the last 15-20 lines or so into a reply here.
