And, yes, I have heard the theory that there are no absolutes and what a person believes is the truth for him/her.  I personally do NOT believe this!  I don't understand the reasoning behind it, though!

The purpose of that philosophy (its actually called being a "Skeptic") is to pretty much give yourself free range to do, say, or feel whatever you want. When there are no absolutes, there are no "wrongs". Like I said in my disclamer, I dont believe it. Its a cop-out if you ask me...

Hmm. I know some people might use such a concept as an excuse to do whatever they want, but it's not necessarily a flawed concept.

I've always felt that... it's entirely possible that there is one set of things that are "right" and things that are "wrong"... the problem is that nobody really knows for certain what those things are. One group claims one thing, one group claims another thing, another group claims still another thing, and most of them don't really have any "outside" objective proof to show they're right. And the groups that do have proof for what is really true, it's just based on what they know right now... it's possible something may turn up later that might partially or wholly invalidate a few things. (Most scientific "truths", for instance.)

So to be honest, even if the Skeptics are wrong in feeling there's no absolute truth, seeing as how nobody can prove for certain what the complete absolute truth really *is*, I don't personally see any particular harm in letting them be "deluded".

I just follow my own moral code and guidelines, based on what I feel to be "right" from what I've experienced so far in my life. And when it comes to other people... as long as they're consistent within themselves and they don't hurt other people, I don't worry too much about other people's belief/moral systems. I just engage in the occasional academic debate just for the fun of it, and to broaden my own thoughts.

It is, once you've tuned it to your needs. However, I cannot afford to rely only on instinct, that would be unfair to my patients.
