Yeah, we've put in a lot of references to past KQ games, and even some of Sierra's other quest games as well...
The thing is, I'm probably one of the younger people on here. I only knew the series because of my parents who played it years ago. Actually, I only played through VI, VII and VIII, so I feel like I have a lot of catching up to do! Reading all those references... it makes me wanna play all of them sometime. and when I have time enough I will... :)

I'm 19. I grew up playing the games because of my dad. We have a very diverse age group here. I like seeing second generation questers, as I call them, on the forums. Makes me feel happy that I'm not the only person born in the 90's who played the KQ series. I only have one real-life friend who's as big a KQ fan as me. Which was amazing when we found that out about each other. We were astonished XD

But yeah, check out Sierra's other games from back in the day. All of the TSL episodes are chock full of references to almost all of them. I can think of a few off the top of my head from Episode 3 alone that may very well make you chuckle. I particularly recommend the Space Quest series. Equally as good as KQ. I haven't played Gabriel Knight (I know, I know, I can't be considered a true Sierra fan until I do...) but that series is highly regarded 'round these here parts, as is Jane Jensen, the one who created it. You can purchase a lot of Sierra's back catalog from GOG.com, which offers all of the games they sell for dirt cheap prices (the cheapest you'll ever find), DRM free (which means without pesky copy-right management and all that annoying stuff) plus compatibility with the most recent version of Windows. Not all games are Windows 7 Compatible yet, but the list does keep growing, and Gog's catalog grows day by day, week by week. Unfortunately, not all of Sierra's games are on the site yet, but I'm sure they will be eventually. There's high demand for the Quest for Glory series I believe.

It's so great to see people even younger than me on the forums; for years I was so convinced I was the youngest KQ fan in history. Now, I've been proven wrong, and I'm very grateful for that. I intend to pass on my experiences of KQ to my children. I'm going to help shape third generation Questers. And I gotta say, being a second generation Quester actually feels really nice.

It's nice to be on a forum too where I'm one one of the oldest. It's really good to have a bunch of people around my age group. I'm 28.

Maybe we should start a thread where people post how they got involved in KQ?

I, for one think it's neat when you learn you know someone who shares your KQ love.  I kinda think of myself as a gapped KQer.  My dad and cousin Sean (he's MUCH older than me) used to play KQ1 & 2 years ago, which I have mere vague memories, like seeing the shore on the original KQ2 game.  I really got into it in HS when my cousin Joe (who's 18 months younger than me) was playing KQ6.  He and I both fell in love with the story.  The only KQ game he ventured into was 6, though, but after that I wanted to try the others.  I bough the old compilation that had all of the first 6 + that Mother goose mixup nursery rhythms.  Shortly before the new set that came out in 2006, my kitty Puff (who at that time weighed 20 pounds) sat on my box and cracked one of the discs, so I got the new set and fell in love with KQ7 (even though most people complain about it)  I have played some of MOE, after getting it from GOG, but on that, I've gotten stuck in the swamp part and gave up getting tired of dying no matter what :(

And I'm 28, BTW and of the 3 people I know offline that play/has played KQ I'm the biggest nut (and even have a KQ ringtone on my cell

One was already made here. All further discussion of how you got involved in the adventure genre as a whole should go there from now on.

Normally I'm not one for ringtones, opting instead to keep my phone on either silent or vibrate, but I may just have to make an exception for a KQ ringtone. Who could possibly say no to a KQ ringtone?

So what if I am, huh? Anyways, I work better when I'm drunk. It makes me fearless! If I see a bad guy, I'll just point my sword at him and saaaaaaaaaay, "Hey! Bad guy! You're not s'posed to be here! Go home or I'll stick you with my sword 'til you go, 'Ouch! I'm dead!' Ah-ha-ha!" Ha-ha. *hic* See? Ain't no one gonna be messin' wit' ol', Benny!

So it is. Apparently, I can't link directly to MP3 files with a free account. Okay, I'll zip it up and link to that instead. ^_^ Here.
