I saw Troy and enjoyed it.  It really hardly followed the Illiad at all with the exception of it being the Trojan War, Achilles weakness -- his heel, and the Trojan Horse.  Besides that very little similarity but this is Hollywood so I have come to expect them to do their own thing.  Still it was an enjoyable movie if taken for its own sake and forgetting that it is supposed to follow Homer's Illiad.

I must support the Trojans because they seemed more honorable to me at least as portrayed in the film.

no need for a war... yet  ;-D

anyway, I agree, everyone has a will of his own and can decide what they want to do with their lives. If they don't mind to let their marriage be arranged I don't mind it either, but not for me though  ;-D

aggg, poor hector ; ( ...after sean he was the coolest!! I mean he had a happy family and so, shame he had to die ; (

I, too, felt horrible for Hector's wife and child.  It was just wrong how he had to die!  It wasn't even his fault!!  If the cousin (who was cute by the way) hadn't jumped in...Hector would still have a big happy family!

that's why hector is the most beautiful, he was a fair man, with a life, with honor, yet he died without having the joy to live and enjoy the treasure of his own life, that drama makes it (to me) even byond beautiful, how the father had to go kiss aquiles hand to get to have a decent funeral for his son... wow, it was just beautiful, I think my mom cried on that part of the movie hahaha :P (I took her to see Troy on her bday)

So would you say the movie was against war in general?  I shed a few tears after seeing Troy as well.  It was really sad to see Hector die.

You know...I think we've pretty much ruined the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.  They'll just be on the edge of their seats saying "when does this happen...or this".  Sorry guys...didn't mean to ruin anything for you :P
