So some people will have trouble when trying to run the Episode 4 patch installer - this is a carryover issue from the problems we had early on with the Episode 3 release.  The Episode 4 patcher is based on people having the "final" Episode 3 release installed.  So some people who downloaded Episode 3 during the first week or so after it was released may find the Episode 4 patcher getting hung up partway through on scripts.tsl or shapes.tsl, things like that.

If that does happen to you, unfortunately there's not really a workaround other than to completely uninstall TSL from your computer and download the full 1-4 installer.  I'm super sorry for all the trouble!

It seems that for some people the patcher doesn't even fully run and for some others it does run but then the game doesn't actually get up and run properly.

I uninstalled my old version of the game, re-installed the new version, and it still won't work. I tried downloading the patch for windows 7, but the patch doesn't seem to be working.

Please help.

What specifically is happening when you run the installer?  Is it crashing somewhere during the installation process or is it giving you a particular error message?

Well, the game itself works, except it won't allow me to save or load a game. Unless I can get it done in one swoop, this is a problem.

Take a look at my suggestions in this thread:

See if installing the game to another directory as suggested there works for you.

Should the whole thing read " C:\TSL" when I install it to the new directory?

This is now the second time I've installed the full patch of the game with ep4. At first, there was no sound, then I attached the windows 7 patch and it worked, save for the lack of ability to save or restore games. And I checked the saves file under TSL in my computer, and despite clearly saving in game, that file was still empty.

Yes exactly like that just without the quotation marks.
