I have Windows XP and had downloaded the current full build. The cut scenes after 'previously' are half frozen and then once I get to Graham with the scroll, it crashes and says 'tsl.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We're sorry for the inconvenience". I've uninstalled and re-installed the current full build three times now, turned down the graphics, taken it out of full screen, restarted (both the game and the computer and all this not in order) and am still checking out the forums for anything else I might have missed. The problem still persists. Any other suggestions or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks

Scott

I have this exact same problem and have done the exact same things to fix it, but the game still crashes at the the scroll cut scene. Please post any ideas for a solution.

A couple of people have been able to get this fixed by re-installing the game to a directory other than Program Files.  Try doing that and when the game asks for an installation directory just give it like C:\TSL or something like that.  If that doesn't help then please post some more information on your computer systems so I can get a better idea of what may be causing these problems for you.  The most helpful information would be what Operating System you're using, what type of computer you have, how much RAM you have, what kind of video card your computer uses, and how much dedicated video memory you actually have in your system.

Thanks for the help. I've already tried installing it to C:\TSL, but it still crashes. My operating system in Windows 7, I'm using a Toshiba Laptop (Satellite A665) with an Intel i3 processor, 4GB of RAM, an Intel HD(R) Graphics card, and 1696 MB dedicated memory.

I reduced the graphic settings in the game as low as possible, but the game crashed again shortly after reading the scroll.

Try visiting Toshiba's laptop and get their most updated drivers for your system.  Those Intel cards share memory with the system rather than having dedicated memory strictly for video so they tend to struggle quite a bit with TSL.  Most people I've talked to with those cards have to get updated drivers and still typically need to run the game at the absolute lowest settings, 800x600 resolution, and not in fullscreen mode.

First, I want to say thank you for being available, Wilco64256 and helping. Ironically enough, I was in the process of re-installing to try the change in the directory since it had worked for those who had a similar problem in the other forums. It finally finished downloading and I proceeded with the change. As of now, it has worked. The freeze is gone and it hasn't crashed yet. Granted, I stopped playing to write this but at least its functioning again. Thank you... :D

Alternatively, you can delete the Phoenix Online folder before reinstalling but move your saves folder so that you can keep your saved games. That's worked for me, although I was installing everything in wine.

I had this same issue. Running windows 7, Quad core Phenom2, 8gb ram with an ATI Radeon 5750 GPU. If it helps at all I already had TSL running outside the program files, and did the patched installation. Uninstalled and downloading the 1-4 installer now.
