Transfer save game from DRM-free to Steam?

Hey,

As a CSG member, I had the opportunity to download the game a day early directly from Phoenix Online, so I did and played a bit. Now, with the official release, I can get the Steam version, which I'd like to continue playing on... but it can't find my save game. Is there any way to transfer the save game from one version to the other? I tried copying the files from "C:\Users\***\AppData\LocalLow\Phoenix Online Studios\Moebius" to "Steam\userdata\***\264520\remote\moebius" (which seems to be the place saves are created by the Steam version), but that doesn't work. Any help?

It's pretty weird, because if I start the Steam version, I get achievements for my progress in the DRM-free version, but I can't load my game...  ???

Hi, HellBlazer. Apparently you have to trick Steam in order to get this to work.

Can I use my non-Steam save file with Steam?

It should work, but you'll have to trick Steam. Run Moebius through Steam and create a save file that is the same name as the one you created from your non-Steam copy. Then while the game is still open, copy over your non-Steam save file and overwrite the file you made in Steam. Then quit the Steam copy of Moebius, and Steam will sync, and this should make it loadable in Steam.

Non-Steam saves are located at C:\Users\[username]\AppData\LocalLow\Phoenix Online Studios\Moebius

Steam saves are located at Steam\userdata\(your user id)\264520\remote\moebius.

Aaaah, yeah, that worked fine. Thanks! I should have thought about naming the Steam save game the same. -_-

I don't think it would have occurred to me. :-\

Glad it worked for you, though!
