What do you think about the fact that this game will be a Trilogy? Any favorite parts? Thoughts? Expectations? Questions? Let us know!

My only concern is that the project might lose steam if it is production for so long. Also that I'll have agonizing waits in between installments. ;D

Very cool concept though, and it should bring a TON of adventure gaming goodness into my life. :)

You'd think so, but when we announced this decision to the team, the opposite actually happened.  Given the magnitude of this game, breaking it into three parts felt like something more managable.  :)

Also since we've made massive progress over the first couple of chapters of the game already, we feel much more comfortable having Part 1 ready for this winter, as opposed to the whole game being ready at some unknown point in time.

It's a good move, having it broken down to three parts. It cuts down on waiting time for the fans in a way, boosts team morale when the first game is finally completed and whatever feedback that's received for the first game would let the team know what should and shouldn't be done for the subsequent games.

Juding by the scope of this project, splitting it up sounds very wise.
This way, you maintain motivation within the team, satisfy all-too eager fans (like myself) with a realistic release date, and give all of us something to talk about.

I think that computer of the future will be stronger... And I hope that I have the required config to play... Even if it's 1 episode...   ??? ???
Heir today, gone tomorrow...

I think a trilogy is a fine idea, but it will certainly be hard to wait for the next installment!  On the other hand, I'd really rather the team get it right and make a game that surpasses my expectations, than to have them slop it together and just have an average adventure.

Trilogy??

I don't hope that the game will be like 3 diffrent games..

Fierce Deity

I think it's a great idea, I'm not greedy as others may be, the way I see it is that the longer you work on it the more it's not gonna be like KQ8, it'll be good I think, hmmm a trilogy, it'll be like king's quest 6 mixed with star wars, it'll be great cesar, keep up the good work

Tawmis

It's an interesting idea... but odd. :) Since it is King's Quest 9... but it's three separate games... it's like King's Quest 9a, 9b and 9c. :)

amarinda

I think it's very wise. :) And way beyond expectations, because it will actually be 3 games, I hate it when things end too quickly! XD

I used to get discouraged when I didn't know the whole story at once, but look at all the trilogy and multi-part movies and books that are so popular now-a-days. I've discovered that the wait between actually helps me to thoroughly understand and appreciate one part before moving onto the next. In other words, I like the pacing. (Maybe I'm just slow. :P)

So yeah, at first I was a bit shocked and disappointed, but the more I think of it the more satisfied I become. ;)

OMG!

I sooooo got it!

Lord of the Kings!

Part One: The Fellowship of the King.
Part Two: The Two Hours.
Part Three: Return of the King...

Oh Wait.

That third one might have been used somewhere.

Matter of fact... they all sound like something I've heard before... just can't place it!
:suffer:

Fierce Deity

lol, that was pretty funny, but this idea really is the better choice, because like you've said the game is really long and the whole file size must be huge, and even though it's free, the downloading would take forever, the whole game will be great, you'll reinvent the King's Quest series, a 3D point and click game with great graphics, I'm sure if Sierra gets there wits about them and start having games like this again rather than stupid war games and crash bandicoot games, they would be impressed with this work, I mean the mother of King's Quest, Roberta Williams, was impressed, just keep working hard on the game

Elessar

I'm fine with it. I perfer to have everything at once so that I don't have to be sitting and waiting for the next part to come out. But as each chapter is going to be approx. the length of KQ6, it should tide me over until the next part is released. Unless there is going to be a five year wait between each part... :P

and, again, as i've previously said in the report, each part of the trilogy feels like its own little story, (especially parts 1 and 2). Part 3 brings parts 1 and 2 together to a conclusion.

But, even when the story does continue, when you've finished playing part 1, you'll feel "done" in one way, yet you'll know that there's oh so much to that, and of course, there'll be loose ties, but having its own little story, and a clear goal that you start and finish within "Shadows".

and, no, it wont be 5 years :)

Sounds like any good series. :)

If we had to wait 5 years between each part, I'd be 31 before it's finished. x.x

I think it's brilliant. It will give me something to look forward to each year... like Christmas. :D Usually when I finish a game, I'm pissed because I know there's nothing more to come--or else you have to wait years for a sequel--so this should rock.

But yeah, looks HELLA nice. This is awesome, I can see why it's taken so long.

Fading into nothing.

I coulden't resist. I honestly think its a good idea as long as you dont stretch out the story too much and waterize it.  :)
