In the teaser, when they are talking about the prophecy, Alexander didn't know what the prophecy was about. Is this the same prophecy as in the end of King's Quest II? If it is, Graham and Valanice don't seem to talk much with Alexander and Rosella.
All that is gold does not glitter
Not all who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither
Deep roots are not touched by the frost

From the ashes a fire shall be woken
A light from the shadows shall spring
Renewed shall be blade that was broken
The crownless again shall be king

Oh. Well, I haven't gotten past their remake of KQ1 yet... I can't walk around on the clouds at the top of the beanstalk!  :help: Bleh, it's sad, I know I played the original and original remake through, and I can't remember soooo much of it! x.x

******** :oKQ2+ SPOILER ALERT!! :o********
It wasn't a prophecy as much as a curse... :-\
Remember when The Father does the glowing eyes thing after Graham defeats him in the end? He curses Graham with stuff that happens in the next KQs - The dragon attacking Daventry (KQ3), Graham's heart attack (KQ4) and not having his children succeed him (KQ6 & 7, supposedly).

It's pretty safe to say it isn't, since a. There was no collaboration between the KQ2+ and the KQ9 writers, and b. As I mentioned above, the KQ2+ "prophecy" pertains to things that happen before KQ9, so making it the center of KQ9 would be rather pointless :P

Hmm, I think I missed this thread.  Anyway, the prophecy in KQ9 isn't based on The Father or anything from AGDI's KQ2+. :)

Thanks for clearing that up. Is The Father going to make a show in KQIX?

KQIX will have no ties to the KQ2+ storyline.

So unless "The Father" is a character from the original series, no(example=Shadrack). :P

and even then, he wouldn't be "The Father".

amarinda

Hahaha, for someone who's never played KQ2+, all this "The Father" business is creeping me out. :P Sounds like some cult or mafia thing...

I don't think there was a prophecy at the end of King's Quest II, the original or the AGDI version. There was however a prophecy in the middle of King's Quest III when the oracle tells Alexander that, in order to fulfill the prophecy, he must rescue Rosella. I don't think it's the same one, though.

Exactly, so the prophecy can't go on for the next six games with no word about it since it was already fulfilled in the third King's Quest. It has to be a different one. There was no prophecy in King's Quest 4,5,6 or 7. There was one in Kings Quest 8, saying that the mask saw that one of its creators would destroy it, but Connner takes care of that by returning it to the Realm of the Sun. I don't see any connection with King's Quest 9.

The Mask of Eternity is part of KQIX's plot... 8)

Really? You'll have to forgive me I'm a new forumer, but what part could the mask possibly play in King's Quest 9 if the prophecy was, in fact, already fulfilled?
