I'd have to reinstall MoE, as I deleted it after finishing it. For some reason, I don't think I will since I have no desire whatsoever to play it again.

Same here. I actually played it through twice because the first time, I got stuck at the end and one room kept crashing. :P

If anything, I'd play it just to say that I played it. But I wouldn't buy it (except if it was included in a compilation).
All that is gold does not glitter
Not all who wander are lost
The old that is strong does not wither
Deep roots are not touched by the frost

From the ashes a fire shall be woken
A light from the shadows shall spring
Renewed shall be blade that was broken
The crownless again shall be king

IF they're for real (sorry, for being pessimistic...:P)

You have every right to be! They have no new info on them anyway! If anything good happens, I'll post it! Especially a reply to my letter that I have to send! And I will post another draft of it when I have one!

UPDATE!!!! I have updated my letter, and would like some new opinions on it. I have taken into mind all of your considerations, and have used them. Thank you all very much for the corrections! Anyway, here it is!

Dear Vivendi Universal Games,

I am writing to you regarding the King’s Quest, Space Quest, Police Quest, and Leisure Suit Larry compilations due to be released. My concern is the constant delays, and the various release dates.
Amazon has three of them listed for December 31st, 2006, with the Space Quest compilation due for December 1st, 2006. Walmart has June 1st, 2006 for all four of them, while Target has them listed for the same as Walmart. CD Universe has June 4th, 2006. Can you tell me why on earth there are various release dates, why they are getting delayed, and if these things even exist?
Speculation says that you are doing “market research”, or that you’re protecting your IP. I have no idea whether any of this is true to any degree, but many fans and I would greatly appreciate a more detailed answer than, “They are real, but currently no date has been set.” I want these compilations badly, but with the delays and the various dates, it leaves me very confused as to your intent. I know that there has to be a reason why these are delayed, and some say you are backwards engineering them, while others say you are working on a preview of an official King’s Quest IX. No one but you or inside sources know the truth, and I think we are all eligible for a better answer.  Some even went to say that these collections won’t even include all 8 of the games! I would love to see a compilation where we can own all the games in the series! Also, I’ve noticed that there is also no Quest for Glory compilation, which is a disappointment, as I never got to play those games.
So, do you think we, the fans of these wonderful games, could have a more detailed explanation of their situation right now? Could you try to answer my questions here with as much information as you can give me?

The links to the websites are as follows:

Target

Amazon

Walmart

CD Universe

Sincerely,
A fan of the King’s Quest series

I am sorry for the size of the links, but I have no way to fix it. This is going to be a mail letter to them, so I need to have direct spelled out links to the sites. If you would like to remove the links to change the size, go right ahead. If you have a way to change the size, please tell me so I can do so. Thank you!

It's great that you're writing out the links in full in your letter, but since it stretches the forum, don't bother writing them out here.

I can imagine people at Vivendi checking the sites and typing a wrong number or something and a barbecue grill comes up instead of one of the compilations.

It's because of excessive crashing that I never completed MOE. That game was very buggy. ::)

Did you try to play and beat it with the latest patch.  Fortunately, I did not seem to have very many problems after I patched the game.  However, I did not view MOE as a true KQ game.

The very idea of counting MoE as a real game disgusts me, but it is technically KQ, as it was an official game, which is extremely unfortunate!

Well from what I have read it was MoE that killed the KQ series.   :'(
Anyway, have you mailed the letter yet and any idea if and when you will get a response about the compilations.

Alas, I have not mailed it yet, as I am on a laptop with no printer, and I'm currently in The Hanover Inn in Hanover NH, at Dartmouth College, and will be here until tomorrow morning, by which time it will take me two hours to go home, then I'd have to print the letter, get an envelope, stamp, mail it, and wait two-three months for a response, if any... So, it could be a while before any response goes out. And I will be watching websites carefully, to see for any new developments in the compilations. I hear that MoE won't be included in it, though. I hear it's only 1-7. That's what some sites are saying.

How about just emailing the letter to VU.

Well, they do, but it takes forever. I sent them an e-mail like a month ago that went un-answered thus far!

I was under the impression that if they get a lot of e-mails on the same subject, they randomly pick one, and reply to that, leaving all the others ignored and unanswered :P
