Shadrack is part of the Black Cloak Society and he's definitely gonna be in KQIX.

Is Shadrack an original character? I don't really remember him from any of the games, although it could just be my memory. I've been wondering this for a while but haven't asked about it for some reason.

He's mentioned once in KQVI, in a letter. I think that's the only place.

Yes, I think there was... sadly, I haven't played through the game in years, so I'd have to do a bit of searching.

There was another letter, but you don't actually get to see it - while in the secret passage, you can look through the hole into Alhazard's room and hear his voice-over as he's writing it

I don't remember. I'm trying to play KQ6 again, but the little handbook is missing with all the Ancient Ones' language and stuff, so I can't get past the Cliffs of Logic! 

I've got the whole Guidebook on my harddrive, copied over from the original that came with my KQ Collection, so I never have that problem

Yes it was. IIRC, Alhazard's telling Shadrack he'd done as he suggested and would soon have the kingdom.

That's Alhazred's letter to Shadrack.

A note of interest, perhaps, is that Shadrack signs his letter to Alhazred as "Shade".
