You guys did a huge mistake, in KQ6 when Alexander went to the Castle dressed in Woman's clothing, a man came up to him and told him to go wash the Dishes in the Kitchen. The door on the left, now it goes to the Courtyard.

They didn't make any mistakes in the castle geography. The door doesn't lead to the courtyard, it leads to a hallway which branches off into the courtyard, the kitchen and another hallway, which isn't accessible in this version.

Deloria's right, in the demo the kitchen is just off from the same hall that leads out to the courtyard.

Though going by viewable shots of the castle architecture as seen in KQ6, and King's Quest companion, I'm not sure there was much space to have a courtyard.  Plus the companion and official strategy guides specifically says the room is the kitchen, and that that door leads directly into the room.

Of course this is this is POS' game, not the King's Quest companion so they have the right to take such liberties :).
Well, ya, King's Quest is on Earth. Daventry is very old city from a long time ago. It's in ruins now and people aren't quite sure exactly where it used to be. There are some archaeologists searching through the ruins, they think they know its Daventry. But its somewhere on Earth."-Roberta Williams http://kingsquest.wikia.com/wiki/File:Daventryisearth.ogg
