Critique on Character Interactions

I thought this was a great little demo, and I'm not one to critique on gameplay since I consider myself more of a "story-guy". However, upon playing the demo there was one thing that got to me a bit:

When Graham is in the garden talking to Oberon and Titania, they tell him that upon Edgar's being kidnapped from thier lands, they had his name stricken from everything so that he would be forgotten about.

When hearing this, I nodded, thinking this would be an issue sorted out as the game progressed.

But it was Graham's response upon hearing this that struck me as a bit odd and strangely, cruel. He simply said he agreed.

"Huh?" I thought.

Now, it may be that this is ALSO an issue of the game to come -- that Graham is likely to do some things like that himself and that perhaps Graham and Alexander have father-son issues with one another in that regard. But if that's not the case... I felt like this ended on a false note. Whoever had written the dialogue did an excellent job in establishing the suggested guilt and hesitation to talk about it. But Graham's reaction sort of takes it into odd territory. It would be indignant of him to be judgemental, but at the same time, shouldn't he sort of question this behavior and voice some sort of doubt that making as if your son never existed is the right way to go about things?

Like I said, if Graham has identical issues ahead of him, this is clearly fine. But if not, it seems like something that Graham should inquire a bit further about.

But otherwise guys, what a great demo! I can't wait for the game!

Good that you are story guy, cause this is definetely the game for you.

That line does sound a bit odd now that you mention it. He's agreeing however, to the fact of how difficult it was for Titania to move on, as followed by what he says right after it: Valanice also had problems.... or something.

he's agreeing to the situation, not the action, but it can be misunderstood.
