Want to know what I think of this demo? where is the donate button? Thats what I think. I cant believe this is finally happening. A little more fine tuning on object clicking and descriptions and this game is worthy of buying. So seriously can we support you that way? I feel if you guys had tons more money you could get even better and mabye keep this series and other sierra series going on strong again! Let me know!

Steve,
Thanks so much for your feedback! Unfortunately, the team is unable to accept money for the game. King's Quest is still owned by Vivendi, and they can't make money off of this series. Plus, with Vivendi's ok to continue this game, I doubt they'll appreciate hearing the team being paid by fans! lol, I'm sure someone else will come by and elaborate a bit more :)

Thanks again,
Cat

That's a shame. I'd gladly donate a chunk of change to you guys. And I'm sure Steve and I aren't alone.

I wonder if it would be possible to purchase the rights to the King's Quest series? Could all of us fans work together and supply you with the funding for that? (Of course, I have no idea how much the rights to KQ actually cost...perhaps it's out of our collective league.)

Catherine is quite correct that Phoenix Online Studios cannot profit (or for that matter, incur revenue) from Vivendi's intellectual property, even though the project is continuing with their permission. I am aware of a (non-Sierra) fangame that is currently accepting donations, and I cringe at the thought of what may happen if the copyright holder discovers this.

I recall reading that Ken Williams and Al Lowe have unsuccessfully attempted to purchase the rights to Leisure Suit Larry with the intention of making a film based on the character. Somehow I think a fan effort to purchase such an esteemed property would fare no better. Besides which, the rights would probably be worth a great many times more money than even this dedicated community could accumulate. We appreciate the sentiment, and hope you can show your support in more practical ways.
Once the votes are read, the decision is final. The person voted out will be asked to leave the Tribal Council area immediately. I'll read the votes...

Thats too bad :( I'm a college student (and have little enough to spend as it is) But i would gladly donate some if it would mean I had rights to 1/10000000000 of the KQ series  :P!!!! But seriously, it feels good to know im not the only crazy/obsessed KQ fan who is excited for this project.
