Alexander's Age

I've gotten myself all confused now. According to the TSL time line, Alexander was 16 when he escaped Manannan? And he would have turned seventeen in Dec. of that year. Or did I mess it up?

I think he was just before his 18th birthday...

that's what I thought, which is why i'm confused. But according to the timeline, he was born Dec. 1596, and escaped may 1613, when he would still have been 16, turning 17 of dec. that year, after he escaped. I think.
edit: oh, here's another question i have. Do the mountains alexander crosses in KQ3 have a name?

The TSL timeline does seem a bit flawed.
Or at least the old one with the dates was, I'm not sure about the
new/official
one that just says how much time has elapsed since King Edward sending Graham off on his quest.
EDIT (by Delora): Link to the official timeline and correcting some of my mistakes.

The one in the Library section is the same one we've had for years.

With the greatest of respect, in KQIV when Rosella visits Tamir, she sees graves that have epitaphs up to the year 1672, but in the TSL timeline, she doesn't visit Tamir until October 1613.

Hmm. Okay, thanks. Now I've just got to decide whether or not to stick to the TSL timeline 100%, or simply change the dates to a year later...

Alexander was definitely 17 almost 18 in KQ3, according to the game itself, and manuals for later KQ games. It was literally a major plot point to the story.

"Great Mountains" according to King's Quest Companion and a couple of refrences in KQ5.
The Frozen Reaches, was the name of the Caldera on top of a Volcano above the Barren Regions, it wasn't the name the mountain range.

What is this companion that everyone keeps talking about? It sounds as if it would be worth it to try and find a copy before TSL comes out.

Basically, it's a detailed explanation (only way more fun than that just sounded
) of the KQ world, the plot, the characters, and the puzzles. It contains a complete walkthrough for the games along with lots of other information. Since it's considered canon, I'm sure it would be worth getting. Unfortunately, this would mean a lot more if I actually owned it.
This is a link
to the latest edition on Amazon. It's pretty expensive, though you can get the one that only goes up to KQVI for less than 1/100 of the price.
(I mean, it's $44.55 for the extra KQVII stuff.
)
I looked it up on half.ebay.com, and it kept giving me unavailable errors. The latest edition isn't on eBay.

Too add to that, it also tells the plots of the KQ games in a sort of narrative style that you can use instead of the usual "pick up the rock. place rock on the tablet in Area C" kind of walkthrough, although it does have those too.

Thanks for the info! If I wasn't a poor student getting ready for college, I'd probably try and buy one...
Oh well.
