Very insightful! I'm definitely excited now! I knew there had to be a light at the end of the tunnel somewhere! Good job everyone! I hope you and the other directors enjoy New York! I'm going there later this year for a school field trip, so I'm excited to see it.

Welcome, Joscasta!

It will be great when the game is released and everyone can see how great the beta testers already know it is! That "special addition" is going to be really cool - I'm looking forward to seeing it! !!!

Speaking of teasing people... you're all in for a special surprise when the game is released.  My lips are sealed or my fingers since i'm typing  ;D

Yonkey

Thanks guys!  These last few months are always the most stressful, but it's still pretty exciting to know we're so close! XD

hi guys great job first!

i'm just wondering should we expect at least 12 more months of time?

why do i say that? it took 3 months from the last entry at 90% to go to 92% so by extending this we see it will take 12 months more.

after that we have to wait for vivendi approval, which may take like 6 months?

thanks

The build we send to Vivendi isn't going to have 100% of all issues fixed.  I think it'll actually be around 94%.

We will have to wait for Vivendi's approval afterwards, but we have no idea how long that will take.

ooo im so excited! You guys are doing a great job. Thanks for the update!

joeschmo9991

I'm a little curious- do you guys have a contact within Vivendi? Have you been in talks with them regularly?

I ask primarily because of the changeover with Vivendi that occurred a while back. I'm guessing you have your bases covered. It wouldn't make any sense to keep producing the game while having no idea what is going on with Vivendi.

Yonkey

Yup.  We've been keeping in touch with our contact.

Yup.  We've been keeping in touch with our contact.

I was wondering if your contact at Vivendi/Activision has intimated whether Activision will ever sell or at least be willing to sell, the rights of the old Sierra games? Or perhaps, do something with the rights themselves (as in, say, producing their own sequels to KQ, SQ, etc) or at the very least allow fan projects more freedom and let projects like SQ7 continue.

Yonkey

He hasn't shared any information relating to any of that with us.

I'm eagerly anticipating the next update, and I can't wait to see what you guys have in store! I'm sure these final months will be interesting! I don't think vivendi's approval will take six months time, but I'm not sure.

As for DMD, I found it interesting that Activision released the SQ, KQ and PQ collections on steam, so we know that they haven't sold the rights to those three games. As for Leisure Suit Larry, from what I understand, Box Office Bust was handed over to a different developer, so I believe they now retain the rights. Though it's looking doubtful that they'll ever actually be used, considering how much of a (pun intended) bust BOB actually was.. I think that KQ and SQ will continue in some official capacity some day, but I'm unsure of how or when. The adventure genre is on the verge of revival, and I think we'll see some classics get resurected (like Monkey Island did).
