But before the leprechaun'll let you keep it, some of your friends have to go through several time-consuming tasks. You don't get angry at someone who's doing so much work for you just so that you can have something you probably never thought you could have in the first place. :P

Absolutely.  The team is working hard and we all need to be patient.  Show them your full support guys and gals.

at this moment in time, there is no word on whether or not the game has been sent to vivendi for approval. when any new information is released especially regarding the release, rest assured that the main page of the website will reflect that. you can also follow the team on twitter where any updates on the game's status will be posted. the twitter link is as follows: http://www.twitter.com/tsl_game.

however, it has been recently stated that the team has hit a major milestone, and that, while they have a few more to hit, they shouldn't be as hard to attain.

My understanding is that Vivendi no longer owns the rights to King's Quest, and with the sale of its gaming division to Activision Blizzard, the TSL crew would need to essentially start over from scratch to obtain approvals to even make this game.  Is this correct?

Actually, no. Activision-Blizzard has stated that they will honor any existing agreements that Vivendi made, but no future fan licenses shall be issued. So the TSL team is permitted to finish the game as per their agreement with Vivendi. Also, Vivendi did not sell to Activision. It was actually a merger. Activision got the controlling share to my knowledge.

It would be a very long, arduous process if the team had to go through all that stuff again. If they had to, they wouldn't have won. The reason for that is because Activision-Blizzard doesn't give out fan licenses. They apparently are against them. Thank god the team is allowed to finish the game. You guys would be waiting a much longer time than you are now. Also, another thing to note: When Vivendi and Activision merged, Activision had every intention of selling most of Vivendi's IP, and only keeping those that they believe to be the most financially viable. It seems that they kept King's Quest, Space Quest and Police Quest, seeing as how Activision put the collections for those three series on Steam earlier this year. They did however sell Leisure Suit Larry to Codemasters, who finished and published Box Office Bust (which, to my knowledge, was a bust in itself.)
