I'm very grateful that we can soon enjoy a new adventure in Daventy!

how about the System Requirements, will the game run on vista or 7?

thx in regards!

I can say that the game runs well on Windows 7 (at least, it does on my computer. I believe one of the team members has been having problems). I'm sure it will run on Vista, since I'm sure some of the other team members has that...but I don't believe I've heard for sure.

I've been running it on Windows Vista 32-bit without any major issues at this point.  Like Cat said, it should run on Windows 7.... one team member has been having some issues running it on Win7... but we are still looking into isolating the cause of the issue (the person in question is running Win7 64-bit with 8GB's of RAM and dual processors).

Yeah, mine is Win7, 64-bit, 4GB RAM...quad core (not sure how that compares to dual processors XD Go me!)

Considering that the game uses an engine that's many years old by now, it should run fine on all modest computers. :)

It runs well on my vista 64bit. However my laptop is Windows 7 and we have found issues but I'm sure they are looking into it.

Yea I've been running it on an AMD Phenom II X4 955 with 3GB's of RAM... it runs like a champ... even with the handicap of having an on-board video chipset (Radeon 3300HD).  I would imagine TSL should run fine on most configurations... you might have to adjust the settings a bit and possibly lower the resolution... but it should be fine.

I'm also moving this topic over to the Technical Support board.   :suffer:

You think that's powerful? One of the team members was running on this:

5500 Series Xeon (2 quad cores)
24 GB of RAM

Any word on a Mac version?  Hell, if they ported it to iOS I'd play this constantly on my iPhone 4

Running Windows 7 64 bit but i'm sure the game will run fine.  I had Vista, it ran fine on that and your Vista programs are compatible with Windows 7 so I don't anticipate a problem.

So far, the only issue I know of with Windows 7 is with folder permissions. That may be an issue with Vista, as well. You may have to run the game as an administrator, though I was able to play through it in "User" mode. The configuration tool only worked in administrator mode, though. Hopefully, they'll find a way to fix that, but if not, it's a relatively minor annoyance. (Of course, there may be other issues that I don't know of.)

I hopes it runs in wine on linux.

otherwise I need to dig through my old collection of windows XP COAs and break out the copied disks.... then dual boot.  it will all be worth it though.

Instead of dual-booting, you could also go the virtualization route.  I know VMWare Workstation has hardware 3D support (up to DX10, if I'm not mistaken), and there's a free version called VMWare Player.  I believe there's a Linux client, though I don't know if it has hardware 3D support.  Might be worth looking into.

If not, as kindofdoon pointed out, it's running an engine developed some time ago, so it probably runs an older version of DX, and thus should work well under wine.  Be sure to post a compatibility report on wine's site, and let us know here (might want to play it at work).

I could.... I have a virtualbox of windows 2k  actually.

Thing is, everything runs slower in a virtual PC.

so I probably don't want to go that route.

I believe the correct depiction for the aforementioned system is:
