Well i'm glad to be of help :). Someday I'll get more details in from the companions and novels, but I don't have access to my books right now. Probably be another six months before I get to my books again.
Well, ya, King's Quest is on Earth. Daventry is very old city from a long time ago. It's in ruins now and people aren't quite sure exactly where it used to be. There are some archaeologists searching through the ruins, they think they know its Daventry. But its somewhere on Earth."-Roberta Williams http://kingsquest.wikia.com/wiki/File:Daventryisearth.ogg

Cool! This will be a perfect precursor to my playing it later today.

Okay, sorry that I'm being so technical again, but...

I believe it was a pegasus, not a unicorn, up on the mountaintop. And it *may* have technically been a monk instead of a priest, but I'm less sure on that one.
This is Nifty, Royal Heir.

I'm like, an adult now or something? Sounds fake, but okay.

KatieHal

Check the wiki--yeah, you're right! I'll fix that.

But I know KQ4 has that unicorn! Man I wanted that unicorn. There being one on the cover is admittedly a big reason I bugged my parents to buy the game. :)

Its actually the Pegasus of legend, :), rather than any old Pegasus,  ;D.

Technically...

Only by freeing an enchanted pegasus with the silver bridle was Graham able to find the second key inside a cave.

According to the Omnipedia, it was a leather bridle with a silver bit. It's been too long since I played KQ2 for me to remember, though, and it is at least partially silver.

I only remember it being a leather bridle. (I say this from playing it a couple days ago)

Well the description in Omnipedia, likely comes from the game, and/or companion (if its accurate). I'd have to check again.

Edit: Actually I think Leather Bridle is the inventory item, and the description is what you get if you look at it.

Revisit King's Quest III and see how a slave named Gwydion mastered magic, defeated a wizard, slew a dragon, saved a kingdom and became Prince Alexander of Daventry!

Okay, I hate being such a stickler but...

Quote from: Summary of King's Quest III: To Heir is Human
...In the distance, Alexander spied the ramparts of Castle Daventry, it's flagposts barren...

...Alexander made way with all possible haste to a mountain cave and plunged into it's dark depths...

...King Graham decided it was time to pass of his trusty adventurer's cap...

...He retrieved his adventurer's cap from its customary place besides the thrones...

...he tossed it to his waiting children, their arms outstretched the catch the their father's gift...

I believe that both occurrences of "it's" above should be its. Also, the "of" in the third sentence quoted should be "off". The fourth sentence should probably say "beside the thrones", not "besides the thrones", and I think you intended to say "to catch their father's gift".

But, my being a grammar-freak aside, these summaries are great refreshers to lead up to the release.  ;D

But good news! Now you can poke through the summary for King's Quest IV on the blog!  ;D

Ahem. Nice summary, but...

Quote from: Summary of King's Quest IV: The Perils of Rosella

...Genesta welcomed Rosella and told her were to find the magic fruit...

Actually, that's the only one I noticed. The "were" should be "where".

Release Day is in 6 days!

Today we take a look back on a game that marked many momentous changes for the King's Quest series. King's Quest V was a record-breaking first foray for the series into the 256 VGA graphics, into CD-ROMs, the first point-and-click interface, and the first game to have voiced characters! All things that became hallmarks of the 'golden age' of adventure gaming.

Head on over to the blog to check out the King's Quest V summary!
