KQ 6: Ali?

I noticed that the name "Ali" is something of a motif in "Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow."  Examples:

-Ali's Books
-Ali Zebu
-The little ghost boy is named Ali

Is there some deep symbolic meaning behind this?  Or is it simply because "Ali" is a common name amongst the "Arabian Nights" theme in the Land of the Green Isles?

Just something I noticed.  Any thoughts?

I wouldn't look too much into it.  None of those examples really relate to one another.

Fair enough.  I just thought it was interesting.

I would assume it's as you said... it fits in with the Arabian Nights theme that KQ6 trys to follow.

Of course.  I bet the developers never caught that, otherwise they might have changed the names up a bit.

Sort of like how every KQ game has a friggin snake in it at some point.

oh, that's true, and they all look similar I think. :P  It's not really a mistake, but it may have been better if it were done otherwise.

Refresh my memory...where are the snakes in KQ2, 6, and 7? I've only sat here for a couple minutes thinking about each game :P

in 6, it's debatable.  the snake is there, but he is actually the genie guy, so i guess it's not a real snake.  as for 7, idk//.....

KQ2 a snake guards access too....something, I forget, but basically it's in your way. (KQ4 and KQ5 also have inconvienently placed snakes, come on Roberta, can't you think of something new? :P)

KQ6 was Shamir in snake form spying on you when you send your with Cassima's bird.

KQ7 was that snake thing which sells you that animal ointment.

On KQ 7:  "When e'er the branch shaped like a snake is pointed up, for goodness sake--run away, go and hide!  The Boogeyman will be inside.  When e'er the branch is pointed down, the Boogeyman has gone to town."

In KQ2, a snake guards the cave where you get the 2nd key in the land of the clouds.  You could either kill it with the nice flashy sword you were given by the genie... or you could throw a bridle at it, which would magically transform the snake back into a unicorn.

In KQ3, you see a snake slithering around in the desert, which eventually will leave behind a snake skin (which is used as an ingredient in the Understand Animals spell if I remember correctly).

In KQ4, a snake sits watch in the swamp where you get the Apple of Life.  To get past this snake, you can play Pans Flute to temporarily charm it.

In KQ5, a snake blocks the entrance to the mountains.  Turning yourself into a Mongoose causes a short battle to ensue and the snake slithers off in disgraceful defeat.  Or you could play the tamborine at it, which scares it away.

In KQ6, as others have said, Shamir turns himself into a snake to spy on you.

In KQ7, you got the snake oil salesperson.

So yea... the only KQ that didn't have a snake to the best of my memory was KQ1.  And I'm pretty sure if I went back and played it, there's even odds I'd find a snake there too.  **lol**

Don't know about the original, but the KQ1 remake has a pointless snake chilling in a tree.
