Same here... I also learned to type on a regular typewriter, and later used an IBM typewriter. Typing on the computer is easier, but I kinda miss the sound of punching the keys  :P

I remember those old old oooold consoles :p, I still got the intelevision (or whatever the hell is that spelled) somewhere packed up in the dusty and forgotten places of my closet :p, and I remember a few years ago I installed it and it still worked! <3!!

Haha, Say, somehow you being able to type without looking and do so extremely fast doesn't surprise me! Something about the way you type gives me an image of it being typed/said really really fast!  ;D

Sometimes I type the way I think and it all comes out a little garbled as my thinking is a little backwards, inside out, and generally unconventional. But it works. ;)

To what is that a reply? 'Cause I can't see any relation to Atari (the current sub-topic).

Quote from: copycat on January 02, 2004, 04:43:21 PMWow, I never had a typewriter at my job, I had a dumb terminal at first, but not a typewriter. :-\

I dunno, I would find the dumb terminal less antiquated. ;) They also have dot-matrix printers. At least they don't have daisy-wheel printers, I guess... then I'd *really* be scared.

Peace & Luv, Liz

Jeysie

Daisy-wheel came first. I have (or rather, my dad did, if you want to get technical) owned both daisy-wheel and dot-matrix printers. Never owned a bubble-jet, but I do currently own an inkjet. Too bad b&w lasers cost a dominant upper torso appendage, and color lasers cost two appendages and a gonad.

Peace & Luv, Liz

Oldbushie

I remember the old printers that had holes for the sidelines that you tore off...

Oh yeah!  :D We used to have dot matrix printers back in the good old days!  They even used that "tear-off" side thing too!

From dot matrix, we went to ink jet, then to bubble jet and then ink jet again (i think?).  I love colour laser printers but they cost way too much.  I don't do that much colour printing anyway though.   ::)

The holes on the side were used in 'listing-paper', a bit wider than A4, and/or a bit longer (with the sides torn off), but all in one long paper line, each paper tearable from the other though. So, you could print a text banner onto several pages of that listing-paper and tear it off at the end, while all the other papers stayed together.
I don't do much printing, period. ;D

(laughs) My roomie knows a fair bit of French. He says one of the things he likes about the language is that you can say the most boring and/or stupid and/or insulting things in it, but it'll still sound all romantic and elegant. ;D

Me, all I know is Spanish, and I can't even speak it or write it anymore, I can only read a little of it. Bah. Too bad, Spanish is also a pretty language.

Peace & Luv, Liz

Say
