(laughs) Aw, don't be offended, dude, not everyone is geeky enough like us to be versed in old Nintendo games. ;)

Battletoads! I admit I never played since I'm not an action fan... but if I was good at action I would have played it, since it looked fun. I remember all the neat comics they posted in a few issues of Nintendo Power.

Donkey Kong COuntry games were good, did you ever play them?

I made a web site for Battletoads in Battlemaniacs and its doing pretty good so far!

What are some of the games you played ???

Well, I can't write... or draw... or music stuff... or just about anything creative, for that matter. :P So I look up to all you creative types. Just don't mind the fact that my face is slightly green....

Well, as I've always seen it myself, there must be someone who do it and someone that will enjoy it, not everyone really likes everything, as well as not everyone can do it all.

For example I do enjoy reading poetry and reading books, and when it comes to writting and stuff, I could be somewhat good to analyze and such but that wont ever make me a writer, and honestly... lol neither I wanna be, I would rather just read a book than write one, as well as I played piano but that does not makes me a musician at all :P, neither I want to be, in fact hahaha I enjoy just listening to music not make it. And even if I wanted to... hehehe I dont think I would be as good as I would probably would aim to :P

BUT on the other hand there are a few like for example the Mikey we all love (fortunatoz :P) who happens to be actor, director, musician, artist and enjoys every single part of his multitask self :P, sd well as hes freaking good on everything he does, wtf super mike :P

So creativity its not only on the side who can make it, but also who can appreciate it, I do believe both sides are so important, without someone to appreciate what you do, its pretty much like... unexistant, I think.

Sounds like my roomie... he's heavier on the music side, but he's always doing all sorts of singing, or arranging music, or practicing the keyboard or guitar, or playing around with voice imitations, or directing his barbershop chorus and church choir... oh, and he can draw better than I can, too. :P

Of course, he's always trying to goad me into singing or trying voice acting or drawing and stuff. I keep telling him I'm no good at any of it, I always screw up, but he bugs me until I try it anyway. So I try yet again, and I suck as usual, and he points out all the ways I screwed up. So I tell him I give up, and he tells me he wants me to keep trying anyway. "Even though I suck?" I ask. "Yes, because I know you're *really* good at it, you're just not trying hard enough," he replies. I then have to fight the urge to go bang my head against the wall a few times. :P Tell me again why I keep subjecting myself to the torment of hanging around with creative types? :P ;)

...well, OK, I have to admit that there is something incredibly entertaining about my roomie's "Full Body Motion" style of directing.

Quote from: Say on December 23, 2003, 07:05:26 AMSo creativity its not only on the side who can make it, but also who can appreciate it, I do believe both sides are so important, without someone to appreciate what you do, its pretty much like... unexistant, I think.

Well, the ability to be creative and the ability to appreciate creativity are not mutually exclusive, you know. ;) Besides, as you said, except for a few superhuman wackos :D , most people are only really good at one kind of creative skill anyway, so it leaves them free to appreciate stuff that isn't in their "field". So as much as I appreciate the sentiment of being dubbed a potential "appreciative audience member", it somehow doesn't help much. :D

I guess it's just that someone who's creative can point at their creative output and say "That was me that did that... that's a part of *me* in there." Or at the very least, "I was an important part of making that." You have something you can leave behind that's your mark on things... nobody else could have done it quite the same way.

I envy *that*. All of my skills are stuff that anyone could do... maybe some of them are important, but it doesn't matter in the end that I did them instead of someone else. It just makes me feel so boring. :P

copycat

Quote from: KatieHal on December 19, 2003, 07:22:39 AMAnd I usually can tell if I've typed something wrong without looking at it, honestly!  Just kinda knowing I hit the wrong key.
Yep, that happens with me too, especially since I have to blind type now, because I think my processor isn't fast enough to keep up with my typing (although it's pretty close now). So sometimes there's a fair amount of time between my typing and it appearing on the screen so sometimes when I felt I hit the wrong key you see my icon deleting letters and replacing them without me knowing it was wrong from seeing it on my screen.

Key shifting happens, but since I usually watch my screen I notice it soon enough. I can type fast, but I type a lot of mistakes too (which I correct automatically, but have to correct nonetheless) so if I had to do a test, that would seriously lower my score.

My work-skill is not something no-one else can do, but it is something only a few persons (if any) in a comparable function can do.

Atari!

I miss my Atari... I gave it away when I got a Nintendo since I thought I wouldn't need it anymore... oh, how completely silly I was. :( Yeah, the graphics sucked, and the stories were non-existent, but heck, it was all just pure crazy gameplay fun, no fuss, no frills.
