Not just the heel, look closer! 8)

Nope, when I put my feet in, they both reach up just as high. ;)

The right boot has a lot more material at any rate.

How do you mean? Bear in mind I may have taken the  photos from a different distance. ::)

Just regular Bad Boys© sturdy walking boots/shoes.

Markings on both shoes are mirrored, so if it's not visible on the right one, it's probably on/at the back. 8)

EDIT: And ofcourse, the ©-symbol was messed up too.

The one with a bigger heel has an arch, the left one is flatfooted. :P

And, all the objects in the background are about the same size in both pictures, and the shadows from the window are in the same place. :P That doesn't account for the huge size difference.

*thinks copycat must have made some weird optical illusion* ;P

Close enough. 8) NO, it's not weird optical illusion, the shoes really do differ that much in size. They didn't at first, but they have become that way. First another picture, then some explanation.

The one of the left is the 'flatfooted', the one on the right the 'arched'.
On these pictures, you can clearly see there's something missing on the left shoe, and that's a part of the sole of that shoe. I think these shoes must have been at least 5, and probably even 10 or more years old. I only use them when I have to do a lot of walking somewhere. Last July, while I was on holiday, and when I was doing a walk of 10-15 kms (IIRC), suddenly that part came loose. Luckily, I was not alone, and another person of my walking team had found a rope a bit earlier and he used that to tie around that shoe and keep the sole part as close to the walking boot as possible. That helped a bit, but it wasn't perfect of course. It couldn't come off completely, but it wasn't held completely in place either. When we rested, I started hyperventilating, and my arm muscles cramped, which brought about the end of my walk. :-X And I had so looked forward to this walk, since it was with my 'muse' (see a few pages back for a pic of her), and only two others). :-\
So, when I came back home from that holiday, I brought it into a shop to get it fixed. Then, a few months ago, there's was another meeting, of the same group I was on holiday with and where it came loose in July 2005. There was a walk scheduled too, so (of course) I brought my walking boots. And while we were walking about, there it went loose again... Nice shoe repair... :stabs: *clip* *clip* *clip* as it flapped up and down and then suddenly, the *clip* stopped. I thought, wtf, did it re-attach itself to the shoe? And I walked further merrily. When I changed shoes at the end of the day, before I started the ride home, I saw what happened: the part of the sole came completely loose and was left behind.
So, the shoes were discared shortly after those pictures were taken, and I now have new walking shoes. ;)

We saw this movie about ultrasound and stuff. Someone used this creepy sound machine to bond her heel back onto her shoe. There was this drama thing where she was at work and steped into a grate and her arch-enemy was like "Ha." but the bond between her shoe and the heel was so strong the grate came out before the shoe broke. XD She handed the grate thing to the ebil girl and it was funny. :P They tried to test the strength by breaking it with a machine, but the machine broke before the shoe would.

lol, I ended up super gluing the heel back on. Unfortunately, about two months later, it broke again. I REALLY need to take it to a shoe repair place. The trouble: no money to do so :(

But that's normal. With a heel you put so much pressure on it it's bound to give way sooner or later. On a side note though, it started at the back of my shoe too. 8)

Before I leave on holiday, I emptied the internal memory of my photo camera, so I have a few more pictures for you.

In my last picture post I promised pictures of the growing grass on the left side. This is the picture taken from normal height taken from the front facing the back. There's one from the other way round too, but it just shows the same, from a different angle, so I'm just posting this one and...

EXTREME CLOSE-UP! So you see, even though it wasn't very visible from normal height, it's growing nonetheless.

The next day... you can now see there's grass growing from normal height.

And here's another EXTREME CLOSE-UP!

Yet another little quiz-picture you can think about the following week. What material can you see in this picture?

What? Okay, this isn't a house picture and the grass is still growing but this is a picture of the neighbor's kittycat. This was the closest I could come with my camera, if I got any closer she's just jump down on the other side. In the meantime, I've been able to come close enough for her to sniff my hands, but I couldn't pet her (yet).

Here you go, a few days later we have this picture from normal height.

And, you got it, EXTREME CLOSE-UP! :P

An update on the front garden, there's bark between the plants now.

A change of background now, there's now also grass growing at the back.

Grass, grass and more grass is being sown at the back. The one from the last picture has reached a somewhat normal height but with those warm temperatures and drought lately every grass plant is now frantically searching for water just to survive, so the growing has come to an (almost) complete stop.

Date of last picture: June 29, 2006.

PS: Why am I unable to preview?

Wimbledon? I can't even have one tennis court on my lawn (and particularly my front garden), let alone 18! Besides, that would ruin the plants! :-\
