There are a lot of reasons why I don't believe VU's working on an official KQIX, but since this thread's about the Compilations, I'll try not to go too off-topic.

Firstly, I'm pretty skeptical that the compilations even exist, due to the serious lack of information and the constant date pushing.  But, if they were planning on bundling an official KQIX with them, they wouldn't keep the price at $25.  If anything they'd triple or quadruple it.

Secondly, they could have easily told us that our game would interfere with theirs, and mentioned the existence of such game during our negotiations.  They probably would have had more people supporting their decision with the C&D if they mentioned they were going to officially continue the series.  But then again, they could also get a lot of people bashing and/or boycotting it; so it's hard to say either way.

Thirdly, why would they waste time and money developping KQIX from scratch when they could use what we've already been working on for the past 4 years?  This could mean anything from them hiring our team to officially develop the game, to buying the game from us, to confiscating the game and continuing from where we left off. 

And finally, while they're skimping on the marketing for the Collections, they definitely would not skimp on the marketing for an official KQIX.  They already know there is a great demand from the thousands of people out there that are excited about this game and interested in the series.  It really doesn't make sense for them to develop the game completely in secret and lose out on all the massive publicity they got. 


You know, I would actually buy an official KQIX if they said they are making one.  But, it would completely depend on their marketing.  If they kept everything hidden like the Compilations, I wouldn't.  If they marketed it as MoE 2, or something that's definitely not KQ-related, I wouldn't buy that either.  Actually, unless their game was as good or better than TSL, I really wouldn't be interested in whatever they create.

As I said earlier even if VU does make their own KQIX yours would still be the REAL KQIX. And I will still call it that. (Unless some random Vivendi-secret-scout is right there.)

You make some good points, but you do have to consider all the delays this thing has had. I have gotten e-mails from VU regarding the authenticity of these. They confirmed them, as did Gamespot, so therefore they exist for the moment. They could cancel them in the future, but as far as we know, they exist. I still believe strongly that they are developing a KQIX. My ideas are my ideas, and they will always be my ideas. I am entitled to my ideas. Sorry to sound mean, as I have no intention of being mean. (Besides, how could I be mean to the group that did the one thing I wanted to do but had a serious lack of resources? You guys did the ultimate thing, and I'll forever be in your debt for that. My dad doesn't quite understand why you're doing this for free. In fact, he doesn't believe it. To him it makes no sense. To me, it makes perfect sense!)

Again, I apologize for my mean comments. If you want to suspend my account or anything, please do so at your own freewill. I am ready to accept the consequences of my actions. And I apologize in advance for any future comments of the sort.

It's just a speculation, okay! I'm not the best at doing all these things!  Sorry if I sound mad, it's just I haven't thought it all out yet. But when they were doing a new LSL, the creator, or something like that, wasn't told. So it could be the same here. Or maybe she does know something, and we aren't being told... And about them not being on the development team, isn't it possible that they shut this thing down because of a new KQIX, and then brought it back because of the fans, but also having a new KQIX that they are focused on, and just gave in to us? It's just a speculation, nothing more. (Well, actually, I really believe that they are working on a KQIX, but still. At core, it's still a spec...)

Actually, Al Lowe did know about MCL, they just cut him out completely.

Oh. Okay. But still, it's a similar situation here I think, if it is true... I just hope that if they are making a KQIX, that it doesn't turn out to be the KQ equivlent of MCL!

What are you talking about, deloria? Where does it say it came out yesterday? I pre-ordered the compilations, and their set for January 4th, 2007 for my arrival date. If anything significant happens, I'll post it...

EDIT: Oh. I see now! Sorry! And I highly doubt it came out! Amazon has it for December 31st, 2006. So I highly doubt it came out, as it says above!

Sorry, I really didn't mean it that way. It's just the fact that it was  originally thought it that was going to come out in January, now the date's in December. I also find it somewhat suspicious that there's no QFG compilation. Then there's also the rumor that it's just there to shut down Abandonware sites...There's a lot that speaks against it.

I did get an e-mail from the company, and they said that it's real, but that there is no release date as of yet. Which is strange, as Amazon has it listed as December 31st. Maybe it's a placeholder. Or maybe your right, afterall, Deloria. I just hope it's not to shut down abandonwere! I want it to be something more than that! But if they are shutting down Abandonwere, then why is there no QFG, as you said? And I was kidding, Deloria. It was all done for dramatic effects.

Sorry I guess I didn't clarify.

A little while ago, back before it got delayed to December on Amazon.com, it said: "Available from Target".
So I headed to Target.com

These past few days, not including yesterday and today, it had said: "Available on 3/24/2006". Now apparently it says out of stock. I'm guessing its one of these: 1. It hasn't arrived yet. 2. It got sold out. 3. It got delayed again and Target.com just didn't update it. I guess only time will tell.
