Somehow, I misread "We now see Graham in his 50s" to be, "We now see Graham in the 50s." And since there was that bit earlier that mentioned "time magic," I kept going along with that idea... I started thinking of 1950s breadwinner King Graham coming home from work to his charming wife Valenice, who just cooked up a nice pie ("Gee, Valenice! What a swell pie!").

At that point, I realized that would be too weird, and I reread the line. Haha, WHOOPS!

This cracks me up every single time I see it.
