Gabriel Knight Soundtrack

With the 20th Anniversary Edition of Gabriel Knight: Sins of the Fathers getting nearer and nearer we thought we’d take a look at the remastered soundtrack.

All of the songs were remastered by the series’ original composer, Robert Holmes whose works Moebius: Empire Rising and composed ‘The Taking’ for Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller.

Every remaster features the same the composition and feel of the original Sierra classic, but carry a stronger instrumentation and are no longer held back by the limitations of the time. So with all that said, here are some of the remastered songs.

We start off with the main theme, it now carries slower beginning, but with it also comes a more prominent rise in tempo, finishing it with a superb piano & organ theme.

Following that we have the Dixieland Drugstore. This amazing remaster manages to be both soothing and uplifting, fitting the store’s theme perfectly.

If you’re in the mood for something a little more Germanic in nature, check out the Schloss Ritter library theme. The softness and smoothness of its theme resonates as strongly as ever.

What better way to end this glance at the remastered soundtrack than with the credits theme? Originally the song was almost cut out from the 1994 release of Gabriel Knight, but Jane Jensen loved it so much she insisted it made the cut. Thanks to that decision we now have this amazing theme.

We hope you enjoyed listening to Gabriel Knight’s soundtrack. What were your favorite themes from the original?
