Hidden object games are not often associated with adventure games, but they do have quite a bit in common. Often, these games do have stories that go along with the game play. The point-and-click interface of the hidden object genre resembles that of the adventure game genre as well, though you are usually not clicking to move a character or cast a spell. The game play tends to be easy to pick up, yet still challenging to complete. And of Lost Civilizationspecifically, we have already discussed how the game is actually a remake of a classic adventure game, Nibiru: Age Of Secrets. (continue reading…)

In 2005, indie development studio Future Games released an adventure game called Nibiru: Age of Secrets. The game centered around the discovery of an old WW2 tunnel hidden under a highway. Some games get remakes where the art is updated, or the code touched up to run better on newer machines, but Lost Civilization is a rare remake in which the genre of the original game is changed. Where Nibiru was an adventure game, Lost Civilization has turned it into a hidden item game. (continue reading…)

Lost Civilization is a hidden-item game that asks the question, “Who are we and where do we come from?” Archaeologist Suzanne Kheer’s fiance Michael (also an archaeologist) has just stumbled upon a decades-old secret on his latest dig that was last discovered by Nazi forces during World War II. This treasure isn’t any ordinary ‘pot of gold’, but something that could be turned into a very powerful weapon in the wrong hands. Unfortunately, news of this discovery spread to some very desperate people who respond by kidnapping Michael in an effort to get their hands on this powerful treasure.
