Supreme League of Patriots Issue 1 Now on iPad!

by on Jun.26, 2015, under featured, new release, news, publishing, Supreme League of Patriots

Don your cape and take to the skies, Phoenix Online Publishing and No Bull Intentions today announced the release of Supreme League of Patriots: Issue 1: A Patriot is Born for iPad! With your mask and secret identity secure, hit the streets of New York City in this hilarious politically incorrect superhero comedy adventure that Metal Arcade calls “a refreshing take on the genre” for just $3.99 on the iTunes store (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id972447143?mt=8).

Poking fun at pop culture, politics, reality TV and more, Supreme League of Patriots combines classic point-and-click gameplay with a satirical and irreverent sense of humor. Join Kyle Keever in his quest to win a spot on the newest hit reality TV show, America’s Got Superpowers. When a freak accident turns Kyle’s alter-ego, the Purple Patriot, into his main ego and triggers real superpowers at the cost of his sanity (and good taste), Kyle’s got a new mission to become the hero New York deserves, and definitely not the one it wants. Navigating a twisted world of vigilantes and villains with his cheeky and sarcastic sidekick Mel, Kyle’s got a lot to learn about the world of superheroes! “The results are hours of laughs with dashes of clever satire and groaning,” says Examiner.com.

Key Features

  • Earn your spot (AKA cheat your way!) onto TV’s hottest new reality show!
  • Fully-voiced satirical superhero antics
  • Discover, befriend and declare your enemies from the city’s zany and colorful cast of superheroes and archenemies
  • Tiered hint system to make the game as challenging as you want it to be
  • Fantastic original soundtrack composed by Jake “Virt” Kaufman

A free demo version is also available now for the iPad (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id983090933?mt=8), and all three issues of the game are available for PC, Mac, and Linux on Steam, GOG.com, and the Phoenix Online Store (http://store.postudios.com/).

Supreme League Of Patriots: Song of The Patriot

by on Jan.27, 2015, under featured, Supreme League of Patriots

Music, much like story and dialogue, helps to evoke emotion and immerse the player in the setting of a game and Supreme League of Patriots is no exception. Although the game tackles a fairly wide variety of themes, the mood is always kept silly and upbeat. This through Supreme League of Patriots’ colorful art-style and by means of a soundtrack heavy on funk, jazz and soul. The soundtrack was composed by Jake ‘Virt’ Kaufman, whose previous works include Shovel Knight, Contra 4 and the Ducktales Remaster. Anyone who appreciated the catchy themes in those titles will likely appreciate the wide range of music found in Supreme League of Patriots.Every character, big or small has his/her own theme, from Consuela’s exotic, Hispanic piece to Stan’s funky, 1970s inspired groove, each character is further complemented by Supreme League of Patriots' excellent sound design.Supreme League of Patriot's main anthem is probably the most striking of them all. A 1950's style energetic, heroic and occasionally goofy heroic song is the perfect vibe for the Purple Patriot. Not all songs are this energetic though. In contrast to such a heroic theme, we have the melody for our heroes’ apartment. A soothing, mellow funky theme. If your parents loved the musical styling of the 1970s you might want to show them Supreme League of Patriot's soundtrack, starting with the following song. With a soundtrack composed by an industry veteran, Supreme League of Patriots is possibly the only adventure game which allows players to explore a superhero-filled New York to the sound of funk. Couple that with the sound of the Purple Patriot getting constantly clobbered in the head and you have music to my ears.Supreme League of Patriots’ launches in just two days. Supreme League Of Patriots: Everyone Wants To Be A Hero

by on Jan.22, 2015, under featured, Supreme League of Patriots

Supreme League of Patriots fuses classic point-and-click gameplay with the satirical, subversive humor expected from shows like Family Guy or South Park. Players can expect the humor to range from witty and subtle to crude slapstick with the Purple Patriot being the most common target. Each character brings a specific type of humor with them. The Purple Patriot engages in physical comedy and creates the setup through his inane and often hypocritical ramblings, which is then promptly shutdown by everyone else. Mel is the Patriot’s most common foil, often calling out on Kyle’s hypocritical world views and ensuring he doesn’t get his way.Kyle isn’t the only aspiring superhero, throughout the game we meet someone simply known as the Flamboyant Superhero. Decked out in leather and with an affinity towards other men, this hero’s main past time is teasing good ol’ “Purple Pants” of overcompensating. He not only gets our Patriot’s panties in a bunch (literally), but is also quite capable of handling anyone who opposes him… except for goth nurses.Speaking of which, that leads us to nurse Julie. Technically she’s neither a hero nor a villain, just your regular goth nurse. However, she currently holds the record of most attempts to murder Kyle throughout all episodes. Originally, nurse Julie wanted to “put Kyle out of his misery”, that is, she realized she could exploit the Patriot’s insurance for all its worth. Now, she suddenly wants to keep him alive at any cost. Our first proper supervillain is the Cold War Warrior, an ex KGB agent who was also a stunt double in Rocky IV. He became too bored with Russia’s “peaceful regime” and decided to try his luck as an American Citizen. Originally, this supervillain hoped to use his ice-based powers to wreak havoc, but he found work a city hall clerk instead. That may not sound too bad, that is, until the Patriot needs to renew his driver’s license in episode 2.Finally we have Stan, a retired superhero who now runs a superhero themed bar. Originally a superhero himself, this walking Stan Lee reference retired when he got a batarang to the knee. Now, his bar “True Believers” provides support for any heroes or villains that need it. In order to get said help though, you may need to prove you’re not with the police. You can meet more of Supreme League of Patriots’ characters on January 29th. Pre-order from the Phoenix Online Store for a 10% discount and a free Steam key when the game launches.Gonçalo GonçalvesSocial Media AssociatePhoenix Online StudiosPrevious Supreme League of Patriots Entries:Introducing The PatriotsThe Voice Of Reason

Supreme League Of Patriots: The Voice Of Reason

by on Jan.20, 2015, under featured, Supreme League of Patriots

In fiction, the main character is not always someone people should either identify with or look up to and nowhere does is this more applicable than in Supreme League of Patriots. The Purple Patriot is the result of Kyle Keever’s overactive imagination being turned reality after a severe head trauma. Suddenly, he gained a slew of abilities powered by his own bloated ego. Even worse, the once mild mannered Kyle is suddenly extremely intolerant, bigoted and even hypocritical. This is where Mel comes in, he’s more than someone sticking by a friend during a rough period, Mel is the audience’s view into the world. As an illegal immigrant in the US, Mel is the Patriot’s best friend while still having a worldview that opposes Kyle’s in every way possible. Tolerant, Liberal and generally serving as the antithesis of the Patriot.Mel believes in equality, tolerance and has enough sarcastic dry wit to counter any of his best friend’s remarks. Our faithful assistant is far from a Mary Sue though. He can be lecherous, lazy and will profit from his best friend’s misfortunes any chance he gets. In one particular instance Mel takes a picture of the Patriot getting seriously hurt to claim a $2000 prize.Despite this, Mel sticks by his longtime friend no matter what. In his view, the Patriot is the result of an accident and is not a part of his longtime friend. On several occasions, the faithful assistant remarks as to how there is still a little bit of Kyle left on the newly formed Patriot.Regardless, Mel never misses an opportunity to put the Patriot in his place, intentionally discrediting him in front of others with his dry sarcastic tone. Whether he does this due to his political views or simply because deep at Heart, he has anarchist tendencies is up to the viewer. As the player’s eyes into this world, Mel is the only character to break the fourth wall. Often hinting at how this is just a low budget game with ‘an excellent value’ or noticing the game’s ‘flaws’ on purpose. With an assistant who spends so much of his time bringing his best friend down a few pegs, it’s easy to see the audience is meant to laugh at the patriot, not with him. He is the satirical product of a bygone era, which only gets him in more problems than he can handle. Players may control the patriot, but they sould view Mel as a relatable character and the voice of reason. If you’re curious to see Mel’s dry wit in action, check out the Supreme League of Patriots store page. By pre-ordering it from the Phoenix Store you receive 10% discount and even receive free Steam key.Gonçalo GonçalvesSocial Media AssociatePhoenix Online Studios
