You’ve seen the opening video of The Silver Lining: Princess Rosella’s long-awaited wedding to Prince Edgar, a joyous gathering of friends and family…that ends in tragedy when the Princess and her brother are struck by an evil curse, and King Graham prepares to venture forth to save them.
Well, Graham may think he knows how to save his children, but we say laughter is the best medicine!
Announcing Phoenix Online’s YouTube Comedy Contest! We want to see what kind of comedic spin you put on the opening video of TSL! 🙂
Rules for the contest:
Subscribe to the Phoenix Online YouTube channel
Download the Opening Movie so you can make your own video from it! (Thanks to The Sierra Chest for hosting!)
Post your video as a reply to The Silver Lining Opening Movie video on YouTube. To do this, click in the box under the video where you can type replies and comments. Click on ‘Attach a Video’ to the right of this box and follow the on-screen instructions.
Videos should be no longer than 30 seconds over the original length (6:15), and no shorter than 2 minutes of the original video (not including credits, etc). This means you can choose to only subtitle one section of it, make some cuts of your own choosing, or tackle the whole thing!
Be creative and be funny! You can use subtitles or actual voices! Create some fun video effects or sound effects! (Don’t go too overboard–the video needs to be recognizable as the TSL opening video.)
If you add voices into the video, please include subtitles of what is being said.
Due to potential copyright issues, we can’t accept entries with non-TSL music in them (unless it is your own original music or an original recording of public domain music).
The focus of the contest is to see what you can do with the opening movie, so in the spirit of that, the video footage can only come from the TSL Opening Movie.
Keep it clean, keep it classy—this means no swearing, no personal insults, no controversial or adult subject matter.
You can work in teams of up to 4 people.
You can only be on one team (or by yourself).
Limit one entry per user/team. If you submit multiple entries, only your first entry will be considered.
Submissions will be accepted starting at 12 AM PST on July 26th and ending at 12 AM PST on August 20th. Finalists will be announced on August 23rd in our forums, with the final winners to be voted on by you, our fans!
Voting will end and the final winners will be announced on August 29th!
The winning video will be displayed on The Silver Lining website!
Our first place winner(s) will get early downloads of ALL remaining Episodes of The Silver Lining! The 2nd and 3rd place winners will get early downloads of one Episode of their choice (if these winners are teams, all team members will receive the same Episode, to be determined by that team).
Winners are expected to not release spoilers before the game has been released to all other fans.
Head on over to the forums to get ideas, join a team, ask for technical help, and talk about the contest! Good luck–we’re looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
