Ok...

It's a DOS/Windows game from 1996, developed by a small company and published by a slightly larger company, hand-drawn characters and backgrounds, point & click interface, and one of the most disappointing endings ever seen in an adventure game

Clandestiny! an excellent fun game, which indeed featured a wimp (albeit a less annoying one

). However, the game in question here is an adventure, while Clandestiny is a puzzle game like it's predecessors, The 7th Guest and The 11th Hour.

I seems no one here knows this game, so I'm giving up...

It's Fable, a lovely, fun little adventure to pass your time with, until you reach the lame ending

In fact, the original ending was so lame, the game was re-released with a different, less lame ending (or so I was told - I've only played the crappy original).

I can't post the link because of the 'no abandonware' policy, but for those of you willing to risk a crappy ending for an otherwise mildly entertaining game, it is available for download on at least one prominent abandonware site
