I didn't think it was Dreamcatcher. If it wasn't for the fact that you took a screenshot of it, I'd think it was DOS. It must have been released in the Win95 days.  :-\

FataliOmega

Ok, I still think its too blurry to tell... but why not try again...

BANG!!

Myst III: Exile

I don't debate, I ramble with STYLE!

Jeysie

AAAAAAHHHH!! !!

(hides and jibbers a bit)

You said the horrid name of Myst! :o

(ahem, recovers)

No, it's not a Myst game.

And taking screenshots of DOS games is easy, provided the game behaves decently in a MS-DOS window.

FataliOmega

Wow.. I didnt know the word MYST would have such an effect on you, Jeysie. I promise not to say MYST ever again in your presence. I do find it a bit of a MYSTery why the word MYST bothers you.  ;)

Most DOS games I try to take a screenshot of, unless I'm using extra software(DOSbox), tend to come out wrong.

So, is it a DOS game?

zerogravityfire

Looks like a valley with snow on the bottom and you are looking down into it.
Reminds me of KQ V and KQ VIII although I know it's neither.

Fatali: Bite me, hon. <3

Louisiana: In what way does it come out wrong?

And no, it's not a DOS game.

Zero-G: There is no looking down involved. There is, however, technically some looking *up* involved.

Peace & Luv, Liz

FataliOmega

Alright, lets review the evidence, shall we?

1) Its not a DOS game
2) Its not a dreamcatcher game
3) It has nothing whatsoever to do with My... well, with that "M" series
4) It isnt from the Gabriel Knight series

So the question becomes, how many non-dos, non-dreamcatcher/myst/gabriel games are out there...
Not very many...

OK, is it from the Journeyman series? (2nd or 3rd game)

I don't debate, I ramble with STYLE!

Jeysie

Nope, not from the Journeyman series. (I have a copy of the first game I need to play at some point, though...)

Peace & Luv, Liz

FataliOmega

To be honest, I never really got into that series. The third game was worth playing through, though. Kinda Zork-ish, in a way.

Well, I could start randomly guessing, but I wont. Its someone elses turn.  8)

Jeysie

OK, here's an even less blurred screenie.

QuoteLouisiana: In what way does it come out wrong?.

Some just end up completely black(blank).

Some end up inverted.

Some just have small things that shouldn't be there(graphical errors).

A few, seem to let me take screenshots easily.

FataliOmega

From my experience, different DOS games react differently to the print screen key (and other kinds of screen taking programs.) Usually the ones that take full control of your graphics card are the ones that wont let pictures be taken. This applies to many windows based games too.

Jeysie

OK, I guess I'll throw out a couple more clues, then.

- It belongs in the 1998+ era of adventure games.

- Due to some technical difficulties the screenshot is from one of the game's cutscenes, not from a main play screen. :P

Im trying Jeysie, I really am... But to be honest, Im not sure Ive even played that game. The graphics look like something right out of Dragon Lore... but thats not post 1998... It looks like a man looking at a winged angel... or dragon... or something.

*throws up hands* I R Stupid.

Jeysie

You're not completely stupid... it *is* a man looking at a winged angel. ;)

As of right now...I have no clue.  But it actually looks familiar...which is saying a lot for me!

Sorry... the only winged angel I remember seeing in a recent computer game was Tyrael from Diablo II (and he looked a lot cooler)  8)

(offers unblurred picture)

Considering what a great game this is, I'm hoping at least one person besides myself has played it...

*cocks head to the left* Umm... nope... no... nada...  :-\
